Ticked Off I don’t understand why any candidate would emphasize a political party affiliation. The vast majority of Albertans do not want municipal governments to be infected with provincial party politics. This is a very slippery slope, and I am horrified. Ticked Off So citizens of Medicine Hat want a tax freeze, or want their taxes lowered yet we are going to spend $4 million on a design of an outdoor water park with a potential minimum cost $25 million? What are we doing right now? What is the cost going to be annually to maintain and operate this? I hope the new council will put a stop to this nonsense. Ticked Off By population Alberta ranks with Ireland and New Zealand as powerful nations, but we don’t have a port. As a state we rank around the 30th, but we don’t have a port. Not a very powerful nation at all. Should we separate? Not without a port. Tickled Pink Because I don’t want to ever take for granted what my mom and dad have done for me and my family. When we call, they come, no problem. No matter where they are they show up. When we visit we are fed to bursting with food prepared with love, and it’s all home cooking especially for our visit. I’m so grateful and happy to show them so. Ticked Off For sure correct spelling and proper grammar have gone the way of the dodo bird. Tickled Pink Repurpose the old Arena into a homeless shelter and put all offices and the Mustard Seed there, and all the people who are trying to help the homeless, with the police station just a stone’s through away to keep the peace. Tickled Pink When the city divides into wards so I don’t have to go through all these names to find the local person I’m voting for. Ticked Off Boy, do I miss CHAT-TV. Visited Lethbridge, and watched CFCN there, and to hear the local news was great. They even showed Medicine Hat news as well. Why can’t we get that station here? Ticked Off Just wondering if the police ever stop people in vehicles for anything? Speeders, tailgaters, cell phone users are everywhere. The best was when I was stopped at a red light, the person to my right was texting away, and the policeman to the left was doing the same. Why have laws if no one follows them or worse, enforces them? Tickled Pink Absolutely laughable that people think Carney is corrupt. You think he went to Harvard, got a doctorate at Oxford, worked as governor for the Bank of Canada and then governor for the Bank of England, all as part of some secret ploy to “force EVs on everyone” and “sell Canada out to the U.S.”? That sounds insane. Tickled Pink With the stories of Albertan transgender children in Tuesday’s News. All the fear-mongering and lies being peddled by the UCP are completely useless against the actual voices and experiences of trans youth. Can Danielle Smith not understand the irreparable harm that these policies are causing trans children? Or maybe she does understand and the harm is the whole point. Ticked Off Stop falling for the excuse that Trump is responsible for our country’s problems. He is not our president. We can’t vote him in or out. We are supposedly a sovereign country totally responsible for whatever situation we find ourselves in. Tickled Pink Medicine Hat used to be known as an oasis in southeast Alberta. Unfortunately the last quite a few years the city and province (Hwy 1 area) have let this aspect of our community decline greatly. Our new council must pay some attention to making our city an attractive place to live. We do have a pretty decent supply of water to irrigate our trees and shrubs – let’s reinvest in our urban forest. Ticked Off Alberta has the worst government ever. They do not seem to understand their job is to properly fund education and health care. It is their main job. They must come to a satisfactory solution to these problems. Pay up. Tickled Pink Further to Bruce Penton’s question “should the Blue Jays win the World Series” would they be invited to the White House? The real question should be if they win (doubtful now) would Mr. Carney invite them to our most revered House of Commons? Ticked Off With the new slogan, “Strong and Free,” for our licence plates. It should read, “We Want Pipelines!” Ticked Off So Alberta’s decision to not ban bourbon from liquor shelves, as all the rest did, has made an extreme difference to the lifting of tariffs. Every one is up. Time to pull it, and pull together. Ticked Off That our MLA Justin Wright still hasn’t let us know what our mission. Ticked Off With the Alberta licence plate slogan change to “Strong-and Free.” It’s a lie as long as the UCP is government here. And we’re spending how much on this? 39
