Tickled Pink Men, when a woman says a man “treated her well,” she doesn’t mean he bought her lots of gifts, it means he treated her with respect and kindness and as an equal and as his best friend. Ticked Off Smith is doing more damage and not successfully strengthening Alberta’s health care. Shuffling people around and giving it a different name hasn’t changed anything. Your antics are a bloody waste of Albertans’ time. Tickled Pink That our provincial government is so silly, they honestly believe people who possess illegal weapons are “law-abiding” citizens. They need a dictionary to look up the word illegal. I guess maybe their ignorance is the result of Alberta’s chronically underfunded education system. Ticked Off Hope the election will work on changing city hall. Need to get their people to do like our premier says. Need to stay in their lane. Ticked Off One council candidate mentioned bringing up/talking to our MLA who is also the premier. There is one problem with that: she does not listen to the majority of Albertans already. Tickled Pink Thanks to Anna Hansen, (MHN Sept. 25) for expressing so well the same reaction I had from MLA Wright’s column. I hope he responds to clarify his statements. Tickled Pink I for one want the solar field. Those opposed need to realize that Medicine Hat needs alternative sources for power to bring business into the area. Tickled Pink To read Anna Hansen’s excellent letter to the MLA requesting clarification, I will be surprised and even more pleased to see the clarification in print. What are the chances of that happening? Ticked Off Boy oh Boy. There should be no better time to look at the ward system for our city. So many up on stage and almost no information. Would have liked to have a few explain a little more on their platform. Cypress County ward system works well. Time for a hard look. Tickled Pink To read a TOTP that seemed to imply 40% of Albertans are in favour of separation as it gave me a real laugh. If 40% of Albertans were in favour of separation their petition to hold a referendum would have likely had the required signatures within a few days. There simply can’t be that many gullible uniformed people in Alberta. Tickled Pink First I was ticked off at MLA Wright’s recent misogynistic, racist and self-righteous diatribe (and still am), but then with the TOTP pushback and recent letter to the editor (thank you Anna), I realize there is still some hope that things can change and be better without people like him trying to run the show. Ticked Off I am overwhelmed by the plethora of signs along our major roadways. Tickled Pink If the north-south people quit trying to stir the pot. We are far too small a little city to be talking about North and South. This isn’t 1965 with little kiddies riding their bicycles to the corner store and pool. Kids use delivery services and get driven everywhere. We just need one big efficient facility anywhere in town. It’s never more than 12 minutes away. Ticked Off I received a ticket for displaying a For Sale sign in the vehicle I was selling. Nobody is able to explain to me the rational behind Bylaw 4346.23. This bylaw just seems to be more government busy-bodyness in the lives of citizens. Ticked Off No one has “hate” for potential separatists on council. We might have disdain, contempt, disappointment and worry. Plus, to say there’s a “good 40% of citizens” who support separatists is a massive over-estimation of numbers. However, that opinion should definitely be disqualifying to be a representative of a Canadian city. Ticked Off Smith still dragging heels into AHS investigation. Fired Mentzelopolous when allegations of procurement by AHS were made. Dirty dealings of contracts, giving then head Andrea LaGrange a promotion. Stop leading Alberta with your separatist ideals and dirty deals in health care. Ticked Off Taking the First St. SW detour for a couple of months, I came to the conclusion that- your area isn’t so pretty anymore. Tickled Pink Anna Hansen’s letter to the editor asks excellent questions of Justin Wright. I wonder if he’ll bother answering them. Probably not, as it would require actual reflection and critical thinking. Tickled Pink The flower beds at the Dunmore Road-Carry Drive intersection are just beautiful! Kudos to all the people involved with their contribution to this great display. Wish there were more. Ticked Off The problem with the UCP is that it is not a conservative party, it is a separatist party. It does not represent the majority of Albertans. Tickled Pink I was feeling fortunate when I attended all the Chamber’s forums in our beautiful theatre at the Esplanade. That’s taxpayer dollars well spent. I would have felt even better if there had been a Canadian flag on the stage. Tickled Pink With the announcement on Saturday that the News is going to publish an online election guide. This is a terrific idea and a very important tool for the voters to be able to access. Ticked Off When one of the mayoral candidates spent more time blaming the current mayor and council, I can not vote for them. It shows their real personality. Ticked Off Freezing taxes for residents that actually live in their homes, but not landlords, is a good idea. I think if you have money for multiple rentals you need to pay. Ticked Off Who the heck opposed 2055 Saamis Drive NW for the homeless shelter? It seems like a perfect site. Now what is wrong? Ticked Off It amazes me how many intentionally defaced licence plates I see every day. How obvious can it be when the bottom half of the plate is barely readable but the top is pristine? Sure wish city police would crack down on these offenders. Ticked Off That my MLA Justin Wright refused to sign the Forever Canada petition stating that Alberta remain in Canada. I was collecting signatures at the Stampede grounds and when I asked him he said bluntly, “No – I won’t sign that.” Now I know what MLA Wright’s mission is – for Alberta to separate from Canada. Tickled Pink I think Danielle Smith is doing an excellent job of keeping us on edge. Please, please, please quit being so disruptive. Just handle things that need to be done and quit changing things that do not need to be changed. Tickled Pink With the standout respected residents running for council for the first time. I’m putting my hopes and dreams into trusting new councillors will have the tenacity and integrity to do what’s best for Medicine Hat residents. Tickled Pink Love the Riverside gym. The workouts are challenging. It may be small but it’s mighty, plus I have 24-hour access, all for a reasonable price. Tickled Pink Just a big thank-you to the staff of the Medicine Hat News for the excellent coverage of the municipal elections to date and the commitment to put more detailed information on line. Hope staff find some time for sleep. Tickled Pink The city workers, who mow the lawns, sure are courteous regarding all those pesky election signs they have to move in order to mow and then replace. Ticked Off It is very disturbing that celebrities are on ads encouraging people to gamble. Gambling has ruined lives. Encouraging it is despicable. Tickled Pink With the Home & Garden articles in the News by Jeff Quinlan. They are simply written and helpful to a new gardener, or refresher for the experienced! Looking forward to more! Tickled Pink At the gorgeous scenic fall display. So fortunate to have such beautiful trails and pathways to enjoy it all. Tickled Pink To know a mayoral candidate does not think we have a homeless crisis on our hands. 73
