Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Sept. 25, 2025

Ticked Off

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know why our collision rate is higher in the recent year. Our provincial government , in its wisdom, has decided no more “cash cows,” so does away with “speed traps” Speed kills, it is proven. Only speeders get tickets.

Ticked Off

That people continually tell people how they should vote. Keep your opinions to yourself and let people decide who they want to vote for.

Ticked Off

Any council candidate who talks about freezing, or reducing our property taxes, is unrealistic, and not someone I want managing the finances of our city.

Ticked Off

Justin Wright, would you please tell me what “our mission” is that we’re carrying on with because no one told me about it and no one invited me.

Tickled Pink

Hooray! Hooray! Fall is here! The trees are beautiful. The days and nights are a little cooler and everything is just gorgeous.

Ticked Off

Why is a person so consumed with hate for potential separatists on council? Are you saying a good 40% of our citizens should be disqualified over one opinion that council has no sway in?

Tickled Pink

With the wonderful technician at BGSA Radiology who saw something irregular when doing my bone density scan that turned out to be a fractured hip. After months of pain and being in a wheelchair, plus having a previous X-ray and MRI which apparently showed nothing but arthritis, she was the only one who saw the problem and sent me to emergency. I’m now scheduled for surgery!

Ticked Off

To the person who said the south of Medicine Hat has been ignored. How many grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, let’s not forget the mall? All shopping is in the south. This city already has one event centre costing millions to taxpayers. I am sure you have a vehicle, start it up, point it north and most times it’s about an 18 minute drive or less.

Tickled Pink

To see our past mayor running for council, as well as a couple incumbents. There are a few new candidates I think would work well with them. Would also be tickled if we had decent candidates for mayor.

Ticked Off

UCP needs an independent source to justify their wages/travelling/advertising/accommodations.

Tickled Pink

That Mark Fisher has thrown his hat into the ring for mayor. I look forward to hearing his ideas to make the Hat better.

Tickled Pink

With the city manager on leave can we please get the expense receipts for remote workers in people services?

Tickled Pink

Don’t be fooled by bigger is better. There are new people with the needed authority, maturity and skill set to run our city council, as well as past councillors who understand the duties and rolls of the horseshoe. Trust, professionalism an integrity for the residents of Medicine Hat. No more “has-beens” on council.

Ticked Off

The federal government is respecting Alberta. There is no evidence they aren’t. There is plenty of evidence the UCP is not respecting the wishes of its population.

Ticked Off

Seriously, what is the difference between the candidates running for council? They’re all saying the same thing about taxes, spending, utilities, bringing businesses and jobs, providing leadership, homelessness, etc. etc. Nobody is standing out above the other candidates.

Tickled Pink

If summer wasn’t already over while the ongoing required water upgrade on First Street would finally get done.

Tickled Pink

I may be a lone wolf voice but other than the jut-outs extending too far out on Division Avenue, I feel the changes made are aesthetically pleasing and have reduced entitled drivers to a safer speed and shared public awareness. Regardless, it’s here and we gotta get over griping about it.
