Ticked Off That some council candidates are so unaware of what a council position entails, they are campaigning on dealing with the homeless and other social services, which are the responsibility of the province, not city council. They should be lobbying the province to hold up their end of the bargain instead. Ticked Off That the weather can be 35 degrees one day and drop down to 13 degrees in about nine hours. No wonder my garden looks like crap. Tickled Pink I’m so happy with my garden! Usually my yard is pretty fried by mid-August, but this year’s rains are keeping it lush and green. Tickled Pink That 70% of us feel Alberta should remain in Canada. Minority of self entitled rebellious wannabe separatists, who are disgruntled feel ‘living at home’ is unfair, seriously don’t realize the hardships of what it means to be independent and prosper. Our identity, financial strength, collective support and power come from being Albertans in Canada. Tickled Pink Happy to head downtown to sign the petition to say I want Alberta to stay in Canada. Thank you to the organizers! Ticked Off That a has-been ‘as the wind blows flip-flop politician,’ with a known reputation as a land lord and pronounced separatist inclinations, now wishes run for mayor. That’s a very concerning Pied Piper to follow. Ticked Off At all the divisive fracturing Danielle Smith selfishly has targeted of our health care, education, environment policies, political discord and useless distractions, all with her outrages spending habits. All Albertans’ needs and issues should be fundamentally her first priority, not her history rooted in the oil industry. Tickled Pink Will be tickled when the media gives just as much attention to the separation referendum petition as it does with all the usual people pushing the stay in Canada one. (Editor’s note: We ran stories on the separation question multiple times last week, and on the front page. You know what else tickles? Reading.) Tickled Pink A huge thank-you to the very kind neighbours of my elderly mom on Third Street SW who put out her garbage/recycling bins on pickup day. My mom often forgets. This very thoughtful act is so much appreciated! Ticked Off New revitalized courts by Herald School look pretty, but who thought it was a good idea to run basketball and pickleball parallel to each other only a few feet apart? Going to get wild if both in use. Unfortunately the rain has shown they don’t drain either. Tickled Pink At the front page picture of Ross Creek in the News on Aug. 14. So pretty! Tickled Pink As kids in early 1960s, we went to a farm-based rural school. First recognizable identity was, ‘We live in Canada and are Canadians.’ Next was Alberta, then our town and then our homes. We felt real pride in that and still continue to feel the same way. Canadian first, just like the rest of the world envies and knows us to be. Tickled Pink The federal government is doing great. The provincial government is pursuing crazy ideas. Canada needs less UCP. We do not want separation, we want Danielle Smith to stand down and quit bringing stupid, unnecessary ideas to the forefront. We are Canadians. Ticked Off At the person who has the middle finger painted ever so nicely in his back window of his truck encouraging people if they honk at him to be ready to pull over and fight. I think we should be promoting love and kindness, not that sort of thing. This person might need some help. Ticked Off The Liberal with the “touching some grass” comment, refrain from smoking so much, change your TV news channel and pick up Carney’s book “Values,” it will give you better insight on his insane ideology to suffocate prosperity for all Canadians, meanwhile implementing policies to enrich his vast personal investments all linked to Brookfield Asset Management. Ticked Off Big new Chinese tariffs that costs Alberta and Saskatchewan billion) on canola and stabs our farmers in the back just as they are taking off their harvest. To what end? So Eastern Canada can support the non-existent EV market, all the while rewarding China with a billion-dollar deal for B.C. ferries. Tickled Pink To see all the people signing the petition for Alberta to remain part of Canada. Proud to be a Canadian! Ticked Off That Alberta has not separated yet. Needs to happen soon while we are worth something, as the federal government is going to shut us down. Interesting to think we have a homeless problem now, just think ahead. Tickled Pink So happy nasally voiced Buck Martinez is back with the Blue Jays. He has a great baseball mind and tells great stories. Wish him the best in his next treatment, and I sincerely hope he doesn’t ride off into the sunset and retire because his replacement options are awful! Ticked Off Premier Smith is trying to undermine the great country of Canada. She should not be pursuing this goal. It is in nobody’s best interest. She is in nobody’ best interest. Shame on her. Tickled Pink I don’t have a problem with Ottawa but I have a big problem with our provincial government. They do not seem to be interested in making Alberta a better place, only in complaining about how Alberta is treated badly. We are not being treated badly. Tickled Pink To see the News publish an article about a council hopeful each day. Very informative, puts a face to the names and let’s voters know who is running. 45
