Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Aug. 12, 2025

Tickled Pink

Hats off to the Medicine Hat Hospital, floor 4 surgical unit Aug. 6 n the afternoon. The care I received from each and every one of you was top notch. From the minute I entered to the moment I left, everyone was so kind, understanding and thorough. Thank you, Shelley, Colten, Coralinda and numerous others on floor 4. I can’t thank you enough for helping me feel better and comfortable. Also, congratulations to Colten and his wife and the birth of their baby.

Tickled Pink

A wonderfully kind woman gave me a ride home over the weekend so I could avoid being soaked by the rain -groceries and all. Thanks for being such a good samaritan.

Tickled Pink

Time for Carney and the Liberal circus to “take a knee,” concede they have no economic plan and let a Conservative agenda build a strong, healthy Canada using our natural resources to prosper and recover from the last 10 years of stupidity.

Ticked Off

Oh joy, we have a Lich supporter and separatist running for mayor, yikes.

Ticked Off

Drew Barnes couldn’t figure out what political party he wanted to be part of when he was in provincial government, so why would I vote for him to be mayor?

Ticked Off

Barnes and Gord Cowan as mayor and city council? They are from the selfish Black Hat gang of separatists. If the people of our city can’t see that, we are doomed to 30 more years of no growth.

Ticked Off

I drive Division Avenue four times a day. I’ve yet to see bicycles or people on the sidewalk. Who authorized spending all that money for no one?

Ticked Off

I was very interested to note what Poilievre had to say today in Calgary. He mentioned the fact Carney hasn’t managed to get a pipeline built yet. If Poilievre hasn’t noticed, Carney has only been at the helm for a few months and has been rather busy dealing with Trump and his tariffs. I believe Justin Trudeau did manage to build a pipeline, while Stephen Harper, a Calgarian, didn’t.

Ticked Off

I’m getting an air horn for the next time I hear someone’s trucker’s mouth in high gear. Geez, if you could hear yourself, because we sure can.

Tickled Pink

Coming up on Tigers training camp. Wondering what the NCAA has done to the CHL? Even our new two draft picks are only coming for one year. Hope the league survives.

Ticked Off

Anybody but Andy McGrogan. The last thing we need is another ex-cop who believes he knows what’s best for the people.

Ticked Off

That we barely get breaks or normal lunches at work because we are so understaffed.

Tickled Pink

Great to see Andy McGrogan running for mayor. Hands down the better candidate between a landlord/politician who did nothing for our city and a Trump wanna-be.

Ticked Off

That there’s been no follow-up story to the Aug. 1 story about the Hatter charged with exploitation and making child pornography. Police were at his house Aug. 6. What’s up with that? (Editor’s note: The suspect is no longer alive.)

Tickled Pink

Thank you to Bill and Kathy for delivering a truck and routes that needed to be done early Friday morning.

Tickled Pink

At the service I got from the mayor’s office and city municipal works when I sent them information about a big pothole on the Trans-Canada Highway. Well done, city. Thanks.

Tickled Pink

I am so pleased that Canada is being headed by a smart man who understands economics and is not running the country on whims like the United States. Carney is our best choice.

Ticked Off

The animosity Canadians feel to the U.S. is about equal to the animosity Canadians would feel to an Alberta that wanted to separate. Alberta would suffer. We would not be better off. Quite the opposite.

Tickled Pink

Carney is handling the trade war exactly right. Bowing to Trump’s unreasonable demands will not gain us anything. We need to hang in there until we can deal with a realistic U.S.

Ticked Off

That people still do not know how to show kindness to one another after all the time that has passed. Hatred seems to be the trend. Do you not want a better place for your children/grandchildren or yourselves?

Ticked Off

New Alberta government policy removes requirement for senior officials to publicly disclose receipts for expenses over $100. Now expensive items can be bought at taxpayer expense, and taxpayers will not know about it.

Tickled Pink

RJ’s Gas Bar and convenience store deserves to be recognized for what they do in this community. Young couple working full time, running a couple of businesses really well. Proudly Canadian. Always polite, happy, never too busy to make time to respond to calls or messages, there for family and friends. Mature beyond their years.
