Ticked Off Bylaw only seems to get involved if a complaint is made. A few doors down from me is a weed fest in the front lawn, it would be impossible for a bylaw officer to not notice the weeds. Garbage bins not brought back to property for days go unnoticed. Isn’t their job to enforce bylaws? Tickled Pink It’s funny how this property management company rolls into town and just completely destroys the city. No standards with whom they rent to. Most neighbours have never been more stressed out and cops have never been busier. I think it’s time citizens start a class action lawsuit against them. Tickled Pink I am as pleased as punch with the Mavericks Baseball organization for honoring the majestic Osprey family living another year atop the light standard (in a new nest) at the baseball field. The name and uniforms are pretty snazzy too. Ticked Off The Premier must need more new carpet or travel budget increase as AISH recipients and seniors take the hits in the latest set of cuts. What’s next? Tickled Pink I’m tickled to live in the wonderful neighbourhood of Marlborough. Everyone takes pride in their homes and yards. The flowers and trees are beautiful, limited traffic, easy and safe to walk, and people are friendly. A true sense of community. Ticked Off The U.S. is complaining about smoke from Canada, it’s like Canada has never ever had to deal with smoke from the U.S. Remember Mount St. Helens, and all the wild fires in the states that we had to endure. Ticked Off The Alberta government used book banning to distract from health care problems, the price of oil dropping below what was predicted in the budget, coal mining and separation. Ticked Off So Minnesota and Wisconsin politicians are complaining about the smoke from our forest fires. I guess the next move will be Trump imposing tariffs on the smoke. Tickled Pink No need for a burning barrel, as I recycle. I also look for ways to utilize and minimize paper waste. Did you realize the SPCA takes spreader paper and old towels/blankets for critters? Did you realize Salvation Army takes sealers? Do you realize there is a place you can take your laundry containers and refill them? Ticked Off Alberta has now confirmed more measles cases than the entire United States has reported this year. Meanwhile, book banning has become a top priority of the Alberta government. Ticked Off With Alberta’s high measles rate. But then when you have a premier like we have, who is against vaccinations, what else can you expect. Ticked Off In my 70 years, the worst case of discrimination towards people with developmental disabilities is happening right now by the Conservative Government. Forcing people to apply for the Federal disability benefit, only to take back $200. If they don’t apply, $200 will be taken of the AISH cheque by Sept. 5. This is blackmail. This level of cruelty is frightening and so unnecessary. Way to go Danielle. Ticked Off At the business owner who felt it appropriate to curse repeatedly at me over the phone because I called to ask when the tech was coming to fix my AC. After having waited two hours past the eta. Ticked Off The person who said it takes $5-10 dollars a month to water your lawn must have a teeny lawn. I do water my lawn and my water utilization has gone from 7 m3 to 24 m3. If you do the math on this just for water is almost $25 a month more and I water every three days or less if it rains. If you are on a tight budget, that’s a huge difference. Ticked Off I don’t know where the person lives that thinks it only costs $5-$10 a month to water your lawn. It sure can’t be in Medicine Hat or your water meter is malfunctioning as it cost considerably more than that to keep your lawn green in the heat we have had. Ticked Off I do not care if people do not water their yards. I do get annoyed at those who don’t deal with weeds on their property or dog poop. Tickled Pink I am Tickled Pink that the residents of Medicine Hat came together in such great turnout for walk in the park. 1,000 pair of shoes is totally outstanding, way to go Medicine Hat. Ticked Off At the apparently professional cyclist we have in the city complaining about the multi-use pathways. Nobody cares that you wear cleats and can ride at 45 km/hr. Do you know what “multi-use” means? It means little kids and grandpas “piddling around” have just as much right to that trail as you do. We should all try being a little more grateful and a little less entitled. Ticked Off That cyclists think the pathways are just for them. You use them as a racing track and that is unacceptable. If you want to do a workout, go out of town or to a designated area meant for that. They are meant to be shared with walkers and runners as well. Ticked Off If cyclists want a straight and clear path, perhaps they should develop their own track or ride on a highway. Motorists must follow all the rules as well as watching out for all the obstacles you encounter, including you. I see adult cyclists riding on sidewalks and crosswalks. This is illegal. 41
