Ticked Off Man, it really sucks that CHAT-TV is no longer broadcasting with no other credible news outlets other than the MH News. It is so important to have facts instead of friction from uncredited podcasting and Facebook posts. Glad I have a newspaper subscription for local news. Ticked Off CHAT-TV done. Sad day for the Hat. A 96-year-old billionaire deciding it’s all about business. Ticked Off I am annoyed about CHAT-TV being closed down, my guess it wasn’t making a profit for the Pattison shareholders and they want profits. Support local businesses if you want them to succeed. Tickled Pink With how the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association is such an amazing force for good in our city and the world! All that while promoting their sport and dispelling unfair stereotypes of what kind of people skateboarders are. Ticked Off Has anyone noticed the level of the river lately? It is shocking how we cannot make simple connections for ourselves. Stop watering your lawn already. Are we going to wait for a dysfunctional city council to tell us we have to restrict our water use? Let’s stop being stupid and conserve simply because we have an awareness about our environment. Tickled Pink I am thrilled to support local by shopping at locally owned and operated businesses in Medicine Hat and surrounding area. Without local support they will not exist. We have plenty of local coffee shops, clothing stores, bakeries, bike stores, restaurants, breweries, etc. Keep them alive and spend your dollars where those dollars stay in our community. Ticked Off How is it WHL teams are forced to play games back to back during playoffs, but NHL gets a day off or more between games? NHL players fly, unlike those travelling by bus. Can we say stop writing cheques and babying the millionaires? We don’t need hockey still playing until Father’s Day. Ticked Off At the person who thinks narrow roads with concrete curbs are more dangerous than big and wide roads. Dangerous for whom? When you have a big wide road that people drive fast down, the danger is to pedestrians who are trying to walk alongside or cross the road. If the road is narrow and you have to drive slower, that’s less dangerous to pedestrians. If you hit a curb in your car, sure you scrape up your wheels, but that’s not dangerous. Getting hit by a speeding car is dangerous. Tickled Pink A billion-dollar private company closing down a local news station because it isn’t profitable. Sounds like good old fashioned conservative values to me. If you think there is more value in local news than the dollar amount it generates, or if you think JPBG should absorb the losses from one station to give back to the community, then maybe you aren’t as conservative as you think. Ticked Off At those who are so thankful for living off the federal teat. If all our money stays in Alberta all those things you long for – pensions, health care, education – will be astronomically better off financially. Ticked Off Was very disappointed to find out that the food trucks booked for Lions Park on Father’s Day for the T-ball /Little League wind-up have since cancelled and instead are going to Redcliff Days. So I guess if these kids and families don’t matter to you more than the bigger crowds at Redcliff Days, you don’t matter to me and I will no longer support your food trucks. Shame on those that backed out. Ticked Off I am sick of yielding to bicycles, electric bikes, pedal bikes, electric scooters, etc., on our roads. Why do these individuals feel they have the right to pull up to an intersection between vehicles and proceed with the traffic? They occupy a lane designated to those of us who pay to legally have a motor vehicle on our roads. That is why we pay insurance and registration. Roadways are designed for motor vehicles, not recreational toys. Ticked Off There is no doubt the oil and gas industry is important to Alberta, but why are we in a hurry to extract as much as we can in the shortest time possible? We know it will not last forever. If we do not learn to cut consumption, pollution and growth eventually, we will have to deal with our very existence. Not me, but maybe my grandchildren. Ticked Off We’ve had a measles vaccine for nearly five decades. Now, an infant death in Ontario from measles due to an infected, unvaccinated mom, is so tragic; along with the growing 700+ measles cases in Alberta. Measles poses real harm but it is totally preventable. For yourself, family, friends and public; please vaccinate. Ticked Off Please remind me why we need $10-million food composting program? Why can’t all compostable matter go in existing green bins? I’ve composted for decades and all yard waste and vegetable waste goes in the pile (no meat or bones). What’s different with the city process? Tickled Pink The new federal government is rushing to remove trade barriers within Canada, so it’s introducing a “One Canadian Economy” bill. I’m glad they refrained from throwing “hugely big” and “most beautiful ever” in there for added attention. Can the provinces and territories abandon their cherished, egotistical trade silos to actually co-operate? Tickled Pink To remember some of the elementary teachers (from many years ago) who had an impact on my life – Mrs. Hausauer, Mrs. Joyner, Mrs. Johnson, Miss Larson, Mr. Aman, Mr. Heidinger, Mrs. Carr, Miss Bryant and Mr. Engel. Although some may be gone now, perhaps you know their son or daughter or other relative and can say thank you once again. Tickled Pink Alberta’s government scientists (May 2025 report ) have determined the nasty extent of pollution that coal mining has and will cause in the Rocky Mountains. I’m sure Danielle Smith and the UCP will deep-six that report. I wonder how many of those scientists will still have a job in the near future. Tickled Pink I have never been so happily entertained as to see Donald Trump and Elon Musk fighting. I’m going to recommend it to America’s Got Talent. Ticked Off At those slobs out there who are too tight to maintain your yards at least mow the weeds so the rest of us don’t suffer from the seeds blowing into our yards. Tickled Pink Whether they win or lose, the Oilers have proven they are Alberta’s team, and I’m from Calgary. Tickled Pink Can’t wait. Once Alberta separates, all the left-wing wackos who write complaints here and letters to the editor can pack up their meagre belongings and move to B.C. It’s a socialist wonderland over there and more beautiful than this province. They’ll love it. Ticked Off Neither ticked nor tickled. Just think it’s time we drop the age-old moniker, The Gas City. It isn’t a thing in these parts anymore. Ticked Off Who is Danielle Smith playing up to this time? Bringing back U.S. liquor onto our shelves is far from a priority. Her focus, if she even has one, is certainly wasted on all the wrong issues. What happened to support local? Ticked Off Six babies born with measles in Ontario because mothers were not vaccinated. How sad that in this “modern” world people don’t trust proven remedies. Instead, it must be a conspiracy to kill people. Tickled Pink Danielle Smith didn’t appreciate Doug Ford suggesting how she should operate Alberta; yet now is telling Premier David Eby what to do on building an Alberta pipeline through B.C. Anyone else see the irony? Tickled Pink If our premier would focus on trade with other provinces instead of bringing US liquor back to Alberta! 55
