Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 29. 2025

Tickled Pink

A big thank-you and many smiles to all the people who parked in the empty lots this weekend beside our house near the corner of Second Avenue and 13th Street SE, which is across from Kin Coulee Park. We know the view from here is fantastic and this year, for the first time that people have parked there to enjoy it, not one of those wonderful people left any litter behind. Thank you for treating the space with respect. Though it isn’t part of our property, we keep the grass cut and pick up after the people who throw trash there. It was great not to have to clean up this time.

Ticked Off

Golden Age Of America. I guess if he says it enough the sheeple will believe it and fall into line. What a tool.

Ticked Off

High-density residential developments usually turn in to slum areas.

Ticked Off

Mark Carney and Tim Hodgson need to clear the government-imposed barriers and red tape at warp speed to let Alberta get back to being a leader in resource development.

Ticked Off

That a failed leader from Ontario loses his seat comes to Alberta to win. Do self reflection to start. Your constituency overwhelmingly voted for what they wanted and knew you were not best option for them after 20-plus years.

Ticked Off

Many people say, in polls, that they understand why Alberta would want to separate. I don’t. How would we be better off? What would we gain? I don’t see the logic. No one seems to give any good reasons. Except abstract concepts like we have been treated badly. How? Beats me.

Ticked Off

At myself. Driving. I made a right turn on red light. I saw two cars turning left across the lane. Assumed no one coming my way, big mistake. The other driver braked hard and hit the horn. My bad, apology. I will do better.

Ticked Off

There is no requirement in the Alberta’s Rider Guide that requires a motorcycle to be loud and obnoxious to be safe on the road.

Tickled Pink

Wonderful to read the lost NWMP officer has been found and that a memorial is to be held for him. Rest In Peace taking on a new meaning today. RIP.

Tickled Pink

Still waiting for crosswalks to have painted lines? Maybe they’re glow-in-the-dark.

Ticked Off

I believe people vote for governments that don’t work in their best interests. Donald Trump, Danielle Smith have not done anything to make things better. Complete failures as leaders, we deserve better.

Tickled Pink

To learn the lady whose father’s ashes were stolen got them back. That’s wonderful.

Tickled Pink

Kudos to you, Nicole Frey and Sabrina Moore, for your courage and tenacity.

Ticked Off

According to the World Health Organization, the volume of noise generated by the Trans-Canada Highway as it blasts through Medicine Hat is at pathological levels.

Tickled Pink

For tariffs that lead us to support Canadian farmers, business, fisheries, etc.

Tickled Pink

My family and I enjoyed the “Night Glows” display at Kin Coulee Park last Saturday evening. It was part of the Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival. In unison, several balloonists lit up the park by blasting fuel from their burners.

Ticked Off

If the residents of Medicine Hat couldn’t constantly complain, they’d have nothing to say.

Ticked Off

Power in Alberta has been selling most of this year for around $30-40 MWh, the city has a floor price of $70, meaning it makes almost twice as much money from the citizens of Medicine Hat than from selling into the grid, and we’re unable to take advantage of very low prices.

Tickled Pink

That 99% of Alberta teachers voted yes to authorizing a strike vote. I think the general public would be shocked at the size and complexity of today’s classrooms.

Ticked Off

So, the City of Medicine Hat gets to bill before it even does the work. Can businesses in the city also adopt this practice? Council needs to fix this.

Tickled Pink

Linda Tooth’s column on orange cats was spot on. We are the proud ‘servants’ of a female orange cat who is now 16 years young and still going strong. She is our fourth orange cat but the first female. We and our dogs love her to bits.

Ticked Off

After reading the breakdown of provincial government travel expenses, it’s almost like we weren’t operating in a deficit position. We can only hope that Air Miles are a taxable benefit.

Ticked Off

Why would the city grade laneways on garbage day? Can’t anybody read a schedule? It doesn’t make sense to me.

Tickled Pink

Well done, Tigers, on reaching the Memorial Cup final! Let’s bring the Cup home! Go Tigers Go!
