Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 13, 2025

Tickled Pink

I would be if some local businesses or companies would consider refurnishing some of the maternity rooms at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. The chairs are falling apart and super uncomfortable. It would be a great opportunity for advertising and to help out the community.

Ticked Off

Isn’t Alberta already a sovereign entity within Canada? Wouldn’t separation make things worse for us? No new pipelines at all and even more subservience to Canada. Bad idea.

Ticked Off

If the premier and her group of bandits would leave before they destroy Alberta. I am a Canadian, not some fodder to be played with. Go south where you belong.

Tickled Pink

Mark Carney did a good job in his meeting with Donald Trump. Perhaps he is the right person for prime minister. I can’t picture Pierre Poilievre sitting next to or standing up to a bully like Trump.

Ticked Off

Premier Smith says she is allowing a small group Albertans talking separation to have their say. Well, the majority are saying they don’t want a separate CPP, they don’t want a separate police force and they don’t want to restart coal mining, but she is spending millions of our money pursuing these issues. Why isn’t she listening to this group?

Tickled Pink

The people who know Pierre Poilievre the best voted him out of office. That’s the good news. Now the people in Battle River-Crowfoot have to save his job. That’s the sad news.

Tickled Pink

First, I want to say I am not a Danielle Smith supporter, and think she’s wrong on most things. But whomever wrote her afternoon speech last Tuesday needs to take the spotlight. She laid out Albertans’ concerns with Ottawa and I completely agree with most of the arguments she spoke about. Made me think.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith lies to us continuously and we seem to fall for it. We need an Alberta pension. Nope. An Alberta police force. Nope. The feds are cheating us. Nope. We need a referendum on separation. Get the pattern?

Tickled Pink

By Meals on Wheels and those who volunteer for the program. I don’t know if they realize how much they are appreciated, but they truly are. What a wonderful thing you are doing along with the many other volunteers in various places throughout the city. So many programs couldn’t exist without you, so give yourself a pat on the back.

Ticked Off

These people who trust Mark Carney, if they would just do five minutes of honest research on the man, they would be repulsed and disgusted by him.

Tickled Pink

When the city finds a new location for the Mustard Seed. It has taken way too long to make that decision. Just pick one and get it opened, before winter is upon us again. Make a decision, please.

Ticked Off

Alberta’s complaint with Ottawa is about allowing oil companies to pollute and climate change denial. I am sure most of us do not share this idea. If we do, shame on us.

Ticked Off

‘Poor us’ seems to be Alberta’s slogan. Strange for a province as rich as we are. Give me a break. We need a leader who wants to lead instead of complain.

Ticked Off

There’s no place to donate blood in Medicine Hat. Canadian Blood Services is constantly needing more blood and donors but they make it a nightmare for many to donate. Open a donation centre in the Hat, or at the very least bring back the mobile services we had before COVID.

Tickled Pink

That Graham Kelly’s column is back in the sports section. His knowledge of the CFL is unmatched. Keeps the sports section diverse. (Editor’s note: Just for the record, it never left. He doesn’t write during the offseason. But you’re right, it’s always great when the season starts back up again!)

Tickled Pink

That Pierre Poilievre will be spending more time in Alberta in coming months. Hopefully he will convince more voters that we have a great country worth fighting for.

Tickled Pink

Here’s to our Tigers. Hard work and good fortune stay with you. Tigers, you’ve done yourselves and all of us proud.

Ticked Off

We should not be seeing measles or smoking in 2025. Both are preventable.

Tickled Pink

Danielle Smith is becoming a voice for Canadians who are fed up with Liberal economic policies and are not going to let Mark Carney implement or sustain anymore of his globalist economy-killing ideological brain-farts.

Tickled Pink

Imagine a group of people so far to the right, the Pope is now considered the “radical left.” That’s the problem with conservatives, they’ve been moving further and further right and asking to be met in the middle, which isn’t the middle anymore. That’s how you wind up with a “left” Pope. Think about that, they think the Pope is left wing.
