Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 6, 2025

Tickled Pink

That after much deliberation these past few years, I am a separatist, and will actively support the separation of the Western provinces from Eastern Canada.

Ticked Off

Although I doubt this will get printed, it’s time for TOTP to go. It’s nothing but bashing Danielle Smith, the UCP, CPC, Trump, etc. Not even interesting anymore. It’s bush league and petty.

Tickled Pink

The Medicine Hat News delivered election results on Tuesday morning. The big-city, so-called newspapers let their readers wait until Wednesday. I would like to thank the News for having journalists who don’t just work 9 to 5.

Ticked Off

The only thing Glen Motz has done is add another year to his federal pension. Retire already.

Ticked Off

Separatists are like disgruntled teenagers upset at expectations and rules of their home and community. They move out only to quickly learn the novelty fades as consequences of independence means limited or no support with very real costs they alone must pay for. So, where are the benefits?

Tickled Pink

At the great job city street sweepers are doing. This winter’s snow/ice mitigation left a big mess behind. So nice to see they’re doing a wonderful job cleaning it up!

Ticked Off

Oil has dropped from the mid $70s to under $60 a barrel and gas hasn’t dropped at all, aside from the removal of the carbon tax.

Tickled Pink

I will be when a certain ‘Black Hat’ Albertan gives up his MP pension, his CPP and his OAS.

Ticked Off

You folks can separate from Canada at any time, it’s called immigration. How about you go live where you want and quit trying to tell us Canadians where we should? This is our home just as much as yours.

Ticked Off

Premier Danielle Smith is not looking for Alberta to separate. She is trying to get our economy going here in Alberta. The West is in big trouble with Mark Carney as our new prime minister for four years.

Tickled Pink

The way for change to truly happen is to come together in prayer. Jesus is the way and the light. Satan is using a lot of you as his puppets.

Tickled Pink

Finally Naheed Nenshi said something worthwhile. Let’s put independence to the vote.

Ticked Off

Our premier should be congratulating our new prime minister like other provinces instead of all her threats. She is nothing but a bully like Trump, she needs to go.

Tickled Pink

Danielle Smith is a conservative killer. With her support she helped bring down Jim Prentice and Pierre Poilievre. Keep up the good work and we won’t have to endure another true conservative government.

Tickled Pink

City workers did an awesome job removing dead trees, branches and debris from Southridge Community Park. Thank you.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith absolutely knows Alberta will not vote for separation from Canada, but I suppose she needs the headlines and support from the minority.

Tickled Pink

“No appetite for a provincial pension” equals “it was a stupid idea in the first place.”

Ticked Off

Writer: “I’ll write a TOTP complaining about Trump.” Reader: “How Original.” Writer: “Also throw in something about Danielle Smith being a bad person.” Reader: “Daring today, aren’t we?” None of you are beating the NPC allegations.

Ticked Off

To the person complaining about street sweeping not doing a good job. If people don’t move their cars, even though the signs advise them that the street is being swept, then large areas of unswept street is the result. Don’t blame street sweeping crews for inconsiderate people.

Ticked Off

There should be a law that a person can run for election only in the riding they reside in at the time of the election. Danielle Smith and Pierre Poilievre would be watching from the sidelines.

Ticked Off

At the number of drivers daily who ignore people waiting to use the clearly marked crosswalk on Rossmere Avenue and don’t even slow down, just blow right through it. Thank goodness the pedestrians and cyclists don’t assume a car will stop for them.

Ticked Off

Mark Carney’s first press conference shows his plan forward is the same disastrous policies of his predecessor and more pain and agony for the Canadian taxpayers.

Tickled Pink

Mark Carney has said he will follow parliamentary etiquette and call a byelection as soon as possible to allow Poilievre to obtain a seat. Meanwhile our premier refuses to call byelections (except for herself) and delays until the latest legal date. It appears some people act like leaders and some act like petulant school children.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith is clawing back the $200 monthly federal disability benefit from AISH recipients because she thinks they don’t need it. Some of us don’t think a $280,000 carpet in your office using public funds is needed either.

Tickled Pink

With Rev. Dr. Nancy Cocks’ “When you feel hard done by” item Saturday, May 3. Should by required reading for some of the disgruntled people we have here.

Tickled Pink

To all the paramedics, hospital staff, and the team of cardiac doctors, nurses and support staff in Medicine Hat and especially the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. Without you I would not be here today, there are not enough words to say thank you.

Tickled Pink

If someone from Medicine Hat would let the people from Battle River-Crowfoot know how great it is to have a parachute candidate represent you in government.

Tickled Pink

To see all the amazing volunteers out on Highway 3 for the ditch cleanup on the weekend. We appreciate your time and caring action very much.

Tickled Pink

Canada, best country in the world to live in. Liberals have governed this country far more than Conservatives. They get more credit for making the country great. They ruined the country? How so? They haven’t. Evidence doesn’t exist.

Ticked Off

BP, Cenovus, Imperial Oil, Suncor, TC Energy, Husky Oil, plus eight other energy giants are in the oilsands. They are not suffering. Why does Premier Smith think she needs to protect them? They are capable of taking care of themselves.

Tickled Pink

Just thrilled at all the great finds for ladies wear downtown on Third. Two blocks of glorious local stores.

Ticked Off

With loud irritating music in stores and restaurants. Who wants to hear screaming lyrics while shopping or eating? Those who work there are also at risk of ending their shift more tired and tense from having been subjected to the noise.

Tickled Pink

If the political has-beens and never-will-bes would stay out of the separation debate. Especially when they have next to no skin in the game.
