Ticked Off I remember getting punished as a kid after church when I asked how one person can take other people’s sins away and why God didn’t just wave his hand and make it right and save his supposedly beloved son. I haven’t heard a sensible answer to my childhood question yet and it’s now 72 years later. Ticked Off I hope the person who decided to have the voting polls at the Chinook Village apologizes to the polling staff who had to take the heat for picking such a stupid location. Wrong address, and could you not find a smaller room? No excuse for a bad decision when there were better locations in Crestwood. Ticked Off Ah yes, with everything going on I was definitely thinking, “I sure wish there were more plastic bags littered everywhere again.” Ticked Off Dismayed that the so-called conservatives still don’t recognize that one-time use plastics are a serious environmental concern. They apparently also believe the climate is not changing. It too is not a concern for them. Ticked Off Outbreak of measles, who would of thought? Giving choice in these facets isn’t necessarily a good thing. Ticked Off What a bunch of hot air coming from city hall. With all your supposed experts on staff why do we have to pay exorbitant bills for the real experts to give their opinion after the fact? If you were running a corporation farm or ranch you long ago would have been bankrupt. Tickled Pink If the contributor who criticized bylaw officers for not dealing with unsightly properties would make a formal complaint, as this is how the process works, rather than just complaining in TOTP. Tickled Pink A recent contributor is correct that public health care is not Canadian only. In fact, all the industrialized countries in the world have it, except the U.S. of course. Ticked Off That home businesses are approved like lawn maintenance, then have several trailers, trucks, etc. parked on residential streets. Same with multiple campers. Our suburbs resemble a combo of a light industrial RV park. Tickled Pink If a person doesn’t like the premium gas then don’t buy it. No one is forcing you to purchase it. Ticked Off At how naive someone has to be to think “sharing family meals” is a solution to the opioid crisis. Pack it in folks, it turns out the only reason people are succumbing to addition and ending up on the streets is because they stopped eating supper at the dining table with their parents. There definitely isn’t more to it than that. Ticked Off At the irony of diehard “right-wing” Hatters upset that some people park trailers in their private driveways. Since when are you in favour of laws that dictate what someone can and can’t do on their own private property? I guess some people just love it when the government get’s involved in your private life. Ticked Off Ah yes, the children riding e-bikes are the problem – definitely not your obnoxious truck that you can’t see over the hood of. Why don’t we just make the roads twice as wide for even bigger trucks, and ban e-bikes completely? Heck, why not just ban kids from going outside, then you won’t have to worry at all about hitting them with your truck. Tickled Pink We are with you, Danielle. Keep up the good work. The only things the others bring to the table are more taxes and spending. Curious about an end game. Ticked Off “Elbows up” is the most ridiculous mantra since “two weeks to stop the curve.” Ticked Off (But not really) The comment regarding credit card interest rates is very true, and I have empathy for those burdened with such high charges. But I can recall paying 21% interest for a bank loan when I purchased a local used car in 1981. It was impossible to get ahead when paying off such a loan over two years, especially when you look back at minimum wage during that time. Tickled Pink If you have finished your job’s probation but haven’t worked two years yet, you only need to give one week’s notice when you quit. Sweet. Ticked Off At the constant overload here of anti-Smith comments. Surely most people are not like that. Some great changes taking place in Alberta, especially around drug abuse treatment and in health care. Only solution naysayers have is more government jobs and more tax money. Tickled Pink That hospital still has parking meters that take coin. And you can park for $1.25! Ticked Off With truck owners who leave their hitch ball attached. In the parking lot a four-door truck sticks out in the drive lane and is a hazard. In areas of angled parking it is worse. Tickled Pink That we all get to go the Shell hospital and care centre, because that’s what’s going to happen, folks. Hopefully those big pockets can hire the staff that this government would. Tickled Pink The view from our window is the guy next door always working on his home and yard, then his son drops by to say hi and gets right to work with his retired dad. I’m sure happy to see that genuine love and respect for his dad. The kid works away but he’s always looking out for his dad. Ticked Off Your gym friend isn’t a doctor. Your preacher isn’t a virologist. Your internet “research” doesn’t prevent disease. Don’t be an idiot. Measles is dangerous. Get immunizations. Ticked Off Danielle Smith’s priorities are all messed up – separation, speed train, AB police, our pensions, no-fault insurance, coal mining, travelling abroad, taking multiple trips to the U.S. on our tax dollars while tariffs and threat of annexation remain. This is not a premier who represents Albertans’ best interests. 49
It’s important to remember that the Christmas nativity story and the Easter resurrection story are both STORIES. A fictional, magical story may be entertaining, but it remains. STORY no matter how many people believe it.
