Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, March 25, 2025

By Ticked Off - Tickled Pink on March 25, 2025.

Ticked Off

With a public school system that does not follow Alberta Education class-size guidelines. They need to stop inventing more administrative positions that affect student/teacher ratios while classroom students and teachers suffer.

Ticked Off

The felon recently elected U.S. president indicates he would rather deal with the Canadian Liberals than Conservatives. Hmmm, you think he’s trying to trick us using reverse psychology? I feel most Canadians would not want a Canadian (Poilievre) version of Trump.

Ticked Off

Begging Medicine Hat residents to start supporting local businesses opposed to places like Amazon as we are losing one retailer after another. Soon there will be no place to shop or work. Think twice before ordering online.

Ticked Off

With the upcoming federal election, Glen Motz will be running again! You have done nothing for Medicine Hat. Time to let some one else take over.

Ticked Off

With a big story on how the federal election will affect the power plant. But the power plant is exempt from the federal regulations, it is the provincial TIER regulation (predating the federal carbon tax) that provides an advantage for lower emission power plants. (Editor’s note: Right, but as the story also said, should the federal government eliminate the industrial carbon tax, it will force Alberta to eliminate TIER.)

Ticked Off

It appears some politicians don’t want polluters to pay for their pollution, rather that taxpayers will pay them, through tax credits and grants, to reduce pollution. Doesn’t sound right to me.

Ticked Off

The City of Medicine Hat should be one riding, the way it once was and the way Lethbridge is now.

Tickled Pink

As a conservative-leaning person I’m naturally disappointed the way our system allowed Mark Carney to become PM. However, I am grateful the editor pointed out this was exactly how Danielle Smith came to power. I’m always open to having my blindspots pointed out, so thank you.

Tickled Pink

I’ve had a total of eight COVID vaccinations. I now receive it annually along with my influenza vaccine. I have luckily never tested positive for COVID, and I believe being fully vaccinated played a significant role in that. Of course, not even science is 100% guaranteed. I receive all vaccinations I am eligible for. I do it for myself and all of you.

Ticked Off

At Glen Motz for suggesting things would be better off with CPC in charge. Maybe we should try another party so we can get better service from the feds. Would it hurt to try?

Ticked Off

That people think “lefties” are vandalizing all EVs. Nope. People are just vandalizing Cybertrucks because of how awful Elon Musk is. I’m pleased to say my electric Hyundai is untouched. It doesn’t matter to me that you won’t buy an EV – more space at public chargers for me. I’m the one laughing when I can drive to Calgary and back for less than $20 in fuel.

Tickled Pink

If the city would nominate Kelly Allard and Nicole Frey to the resilient and inclusive community board. Their experience dealing with the city and expertise could really make a change for our city.

Ticked Off

At our premier. What an absolute embarrassment she is. She touts diplomacy but I guess that is only reserved for our neighbours to the south of Canada. She shows no diplomacy or respect to our prime minister. The only one putting national unity under threat is Danielle Smith.

Ticked Off

Why can’t Mr. Poilievre talk straight to the people, instead of reading every press conference off cards? Can he not think for himself, or does he have to have everything written out for him so he won’t say something silly? Other leaders talk off the cuff, and he reads a written statement.

Tickled Pink

If there was any doubt before, it’s now obvious we’ve reached peak stupidity. Trespassers and squatters are now called “unwanted guests.” Thanks, all you bleeding-heart liberals.

Ticked Off

Maybe I could have more respect for Ms. Smith if she gave as much rhetoric to the agriculture industry as she gives to oil and gas. It looks like she only cares about the folks with deep pockets. Small farmers and ranchers need the support of your government, too, and so do the poor and homeless. Work for all of us, please.

Tickled Pink

If we have a full public inquiry into CorruptCare. Something is terribly wrong when the premier and the minister of health flat-out refuse to answer questions.

Ticked Off

I take issue with Danielle Smith making “demands” of the federal government and threatening national unity, yet again. Shouldn’t this be a time when all of Canada needs to present a common front? “Not so,” says our esteemed leader. It’s “my way or the highway.”

Ticked Off

I’ve kept track of weekly gas prices for four years and have never seen a 15-cent increase from March to April, supposedly due to summer fuel. Big fat lie. They increase the price because then can and the sheep can’t do anything about it.

Tickled Pink

If the News would publish an article clarifying the rules for riding bicycles, e-bikes and scooters in the city. There seems to be a lot of variety among users regarding helmets (or lack of helmets) and where the devices can be used, or not used. (Trails, sidewalks, roads?)

Ticked Off

Mark Carney’s plan for Canada would be a disaster, time to give him the title of “shortest term of an unelected prime minister in the history of Canada.”

Ticked Off

During our next election, we need true leadership more then ever. Not politicians skilled at throwing insults at each other. Let’s see what you’ve got.

Tickled Pink

To be clear, I despise Trump. But I am tickled at the way he’s unifying our country because we might actually open trade barriers between our various provinces in response to his threats.

Tickled Pink

That within weeks the clown federal government will be replaced. And perhaps get rid of the so-called national news broadcaster at a tune of over $1 billion a year. Biased, woke and not a benefit to Canadians. That money could and would be better utilized.

Tickled Pink

Today, March 23, I sent congratulations to Glen Motz, CPC MP for the constituency of Medicine Hat Cardston- Warner for once again winning the riding in the April 28 federal election. It’s nice to be ahead of the curve.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith wants Trump to pause the tariffs so the Conservatives can make up ground in the federal election race. I’m sick of having a representative who cares more about her own agenda than her constituents.

Ticked Off

That 40 years ago, Pierre Elliot Trudeau proposed pipelines to Eastern Canada. Alberta’s response was “Let the Eastern bastards freeze in the dark.” The conservative governments have been playing the victim card ever since.
