Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, March 18, 2025

Tickled Pink

Having a good laugh wondering what all the cheapskates in The Hat will do without their Old Milwaukee?

Tickled Pink

I am totally right handed. However, when I golf I grip the club with my right hand and I stand on the right side of the ball, and then someone says to me “oh, you are a lefty, eh?” Go figure.

Ticked Off

Talk about misinformation and disinformation. Anyone who thinks we have a chance to retaliate in any way against the U.S. and come out ahead lives in a disillusioned state.

Ticked Off

Too bad the leader of the “C” party did not pay attention in his high school social class. He says Canada is broken – back in the 1930s the conservative government at the time created the CBC to unite Canada, for fear of U.S. domination, and today he wants to defund it. Just too bad he didn’t pay attention.

Ticked Off

Twice a year I have to cover an entire business changing clocks, some require a ladder. For what? I waste three hours a year and we still open at the same time, have coffee at same time, take lunch at same time and go home at same time. Nothing changes. What is the point of moving clocks twice a year?

Ticked Off

Surprised and disappointed to hear comments attributed to our current federal MP suggesting that our new PM is somehow not legitimate having not been elected by Canadians. In truth the prime minister will never be elected directly by Canadians but only by party members of the party in power.

Ticked Off

The editor’s comment regarding a person who has never faced the electorate becoming prime minister and the comment that once again the populace has been bamboozled by the Liberal Party should be reminded that the last time that happened it was under the auspices of the Liberal Party – see John Turner. (Editor’s note: Well, technically the last time an unelected person was named leader of their party and therefore the government was Danielle Smith. It’s how our system works. It’s not the big coup you want it to be.)

Tickled Pink

There is a premier in Canada with the guts to stand up to the U.S. He should be our next prime minister.

Ticked Off

With the person who admires Doug Ford’s approach rather than the wise premiers. I guess it didn’t work, in fact it bit him in the butt.

Tickled Pink

To see another UCP meltdown when a caucus member doesn’t support their leader.

Ticked Off

Annoying when multiple homes on same block go up for sale and are bought by same person who turns them into rentals. Sucks big time, as they have endless parties or a gaggle of noisy kids.

Ticked Off

Crestwood seems to be littered with homes and duplexes using their front driveway or front lawn as storage for boats, RVs, vehicles. There are storage facilities, hate to think you have this insured unit parked in a questionable area as this totally devalues your neighbourhood and neighbour’s property. Try making an insurance claim if things go sideways.

Ticked Off

Does anyone else feel like the tariffs on U.S. goods, which we as consumer have to pay and the feds get to collect, is just yet another inflationary tax on us? And don’t say, “Just buy Canadian.” We don’t sell it.

Ticked Off

Are you kidding me? Fewer traffic lanes on Kingsway to satisfy trails? I think the city engineers get bored, make up these plans then try to justify them as progress. Any reduction of vehicles is nonsense.

Tickled Pink

Canadians can celebrate, finally Trudeau has left the building and hopefully voters will have a chance to give Carney the title of “shortest term for a prime minister” in the history of Canada.

Ticked Off

While shopping in a large store, the price label below the product I was looking at had a Canadian maple leaf on it. Just to be sure, I checked the label on the coffee, and sure enough, product of the U.S. Be careful, read the label.

Ticked Off

To the person who thinks we’ll be better off as the 51st state. I’ll drive you to the border so you can join them. Obviously not a Canadian.

Tickled Pink

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to help people. I volunteer at the food bank there’s tons of great food that could be used instead of being wasted or feeding animals. Homemade soups, a nice fresh warm bread roll and a cup of coffee. We the volunteers have the time if only we were allowed to do this. There’s lots of free time available in those kitchens.

Ticked Off

To the individual who does not seem to know that in the British Parliamentary System of Government, you can be the PM without being elected to Parliament. MacDonald and Abbott (Conservatives) Turner and King (Liberals) found themselves in a similar situation to Carney. They were all elected as soon as possible in friendly ridings.

Ticked Off

That they are cutting a row of old cottonwoods down to protect a gas pipeline. The trees were there first so why was the pipeline approved in that location? Sounds like incompetence to me.

Ticked Off

It seems to me the crazy U.S. president’s idea of make America great again is to take it back to the dark ages when it didn’t even exist.
