Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Feb. 20, 2025

Tickled Pink

I just finished the frozen raspberries and strawberries from my garden. I finished my potatoes as well. Saved a lot of money with very little effort. Maybe more people should consider a garden instead of having a nice lawn.

Ticked Off

With the push for an election ASAP. Donald Trump doesn’t care who is in charge of any country, let alone Canada. He has blatantly said it.

Tickled Pink

In reply to the submission querying who is Prince Henry. Prince Henry Charles Albert David is the second son of King Charles III and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. It was decided by the then Prince Charles and Princess Diana, shortly after his birth, that he would be called by the nickname Harry in day-to-day life.

Ticked Off

That ground beef is stores smells and tastes terrible. Vegetables are no longer fresh and fruit is starting to go bad in store, and yet none at a reduced price for the poor quality.

Ticked Off

MLA Justin Wright says the Grassy Lake coal mine won’t use any new water, yet the miner purchased a water licence for 258 million litres per year for $1.7 million from the neighbouring municipality. Wright “says” the government is allowing renewable power even though Albertans “oppose” renewable energy, yet two thirds opposed the UCP moratorium on renewable power. Does he just make this stuff up?

Ticked Off

I can’t believe Canadians are willing to vote in the Conservatives after what Donald Trump and Elon Musk are doing to the USA. I guess you can’t cure stupid.

Ticked Off

At the city for still having Christmas lights on in the middle of February. Who is paying for the electricity? The taxpayers?

Ticked Off

President Trump is one hundred percent correct about Trudeau and the Liberals allowing fentanyl to pour into Canada and be produced in Canada. Also allowing China to launder the massive profits into the real estate market. Unfortunately, Trudeau is using tariffs to somehow unify Canadians against the U.S., and pretend the Liberals are the good guys. Trudeau is the criminal here folks, do your research.

Ticked Off

Pretty rich that draft-dodger Trump and Musk fire 1,000 veteran affair employees. Someone needs to stop the madness, it won’t be the gutless Clown Congress!

Tickled Pink

With our newspaper carrier on Rideau Close. You are a fantastic newspaper carrier because my paper is always there every morning. Thank you so much for your dedication service.

Ticked Off

Our premier and Energy Minister Brian Jean has deemed it necessary to lift the ban on coal mining on the Eastern Rockies slopes. Why? Because “she has taxpayers to protect” as the UCP government is being sued for $15 billion by coal mining companies for loss of income. Who put us in this mess? We weren’t consulted when the ban was lifted. Given this government’s track record, cities and municipalities downstream will be held accountable for not monitoring the contaminate water or she will blame the federal government?

Ticked Off

With all the angry and rude people who think their behaviour is acceptable. If you cannot have a reasonable discussion without being disrespectful, just walk away. You have the choice to be the better person. Let’s all try to do better.

Ticked Off

That we have a clown riding tall bikes causing drama in our community. If he and a certain guy on the radio would just leave our city, it would be a better place.

Tickled Pink

That MLA Justin Wright could use a lesson in statistics and how to interpret them. The Leger poll in 2023 showed that 65% of Albertans opposed the ban on renewables brought in by the UCP; not that more than 60% of Albertans opposed renewables, as he told the town hall attendees recently. Deliberate or ignorance?

Tickled Pink

President Felon claims the U.S. does not need what Canada produces. Of course, this is a lie (he can’t help it). They need our oil, potash, aluminum, electricity and now he admits they want our water. We should sell it to them at a premium. We win.

Ticked Off

Once my child reaches school age I don’t have to pay childcare. Are young children less valuable? The UCP government must think so or they would make childcare workers and children more valuable.

Tickled Pink

Kudos to Anna Hansen for her spirited and informed push back to the Grassy Mountain coal mine project. It has encouraged me to write Danielle Smith and Energy Minister Brian Jean to voice my opposition. How about you?

Tickled Pink

I guess when 10% of the ice and snow is removed from a roadway, it can technically still qualify as snow removal and warrant the appropriate “No Parking, Snow Removal in Progress” signage. I guess residents get deceived again.

Ticked Off

There actually are people who want the U.S. taking over. If you think you would be better off with Donald Trump running the show, you must have lots of money. Those are the only people he cares about. If he wasn’t the president, these people would have nothing to do with him.

Tickled Pink

With our newspaper delivery. It’s been exceptional with the bitter cold we have been having. Thanks to all who do this job to see we get the paper, you are not unnoticed and are very much appreciated.

Ticked Off

I find it rather sad that our trail system during winter is better maintained than our major roadways. Does our city have shares in the collision shops, wheel alignment businesses and towing companies that I am unaware of?

Ticked Off

Universal Basic Income is one more big step toward full fledged communism. What incentive is there to get ahead if you just pay more taxes to pay for it?

Ticked Off

It doesn’t make sense, in one News article MLA Justin Wright wrongly states Rocky Mountain coal mining will not be an environmental issue, then a couple days later he states in another News article that water is the lifeblood of our region. Is he willing to gamble in his belief that our water will not be poisoned?

Tickled Pink

When a group of Tigers huddle after scoring and do a little jumping dance. Makes fans giggle with joy.

Ticked Off

That wealthy U.S. hunters are coming to harvest our apex animals for pleasure while the leader they support hoots us in the foot every day. Was $1 million that goes who knows where an investment?

Ticked Off

At the booing of the U.S. anthem. It’s a hockey game for crying out loud. If the tables were turned, you people would be having a fit. (Editor’s note: What do you mean by tables turned? If we threatened to makes the U.S. our 11th province, began referring to the president as Premier Trump and then started an unprovoked trade war based on a series of false claims that damages the economies of both nations and destabilizes global commerce, would U.S. citizens stop at booing a song?)
