I heard on the local news just now the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated $300,000 to the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter. Thank you to the Church and its generous members! Bless you all!

I’m so happy we discovered a local downtown bakery has outrageously tasty cinnamon buns. Now I just have to get serious and join a gym.

That on average, we’re looking at a $140 increase in residential tax bills. Frankly, I don’t think it’s enough to sustain or increase services. But, over the course of one year, if it has to be about $2.70 per week, I think I can make it work.

So grateful for the fantastic gym in Riverside. They have childminding, Sara is great with the littles. If you are looking for a smaller friendly gym it is the one!

Happy to see the Medicine Hat Boxing Club host the Silver Glove tournament next month. The hard work from the coaching staff shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Thanks to the News for the Christmas carol singalong booklet. The residents at our care facility had a great evening of carols and hot chocolate and cookies. We appreciate the assistance of having all the words facilitated. Merry Christmas!

We love the work Bunny Run Rabbit Rescue does for the abandoned rabbits around Medicine Hat and area. We wish more families would step forward to foster these loving companions so more can be rescued. Consider fostering or adoption, please don’t shop for pets this Holiday Season!

TIXX, which handles ticketing for CO-OP Place, the Esplanade and other venues in the city is so much friendlier to use than the international behemoth that other centres use. Transferring tickets is so easy.

Just got home from attending my grandkids’ Christmas concert at Dr. Ken Sauer School. Well done to the staff and students for putting together a particularly touching and beautiful performance. The singing, the acting was all top notch. The principal mentioned that the three music teachers worked with close to 300 students to put the show together – kudos to them for taking the time to make a memorable evening for our family.

I would be if the city looked into tiny homes. They are doing this in Toronto and it’s helping with homeless keeping them warm and safe. I think we should all look into this and help the homeless.

Appreciation sent to all the volunteers at the Veiner Centre. It shows action at work. Of course, extended to the well managed organization and staff with Unison as well.

That whenever I feel a little down, my dog comes and puts his chin on my leg. He looks at me and I know it’s not that bad. What a great gift he always gives me!

A huge thank-you from the Salvation Army to all the students, teachers, Chaplain Jeff, school districts, service clubs, clubs, businesses and individuals, music groups and athletes who attended kettles and rang bells for the Salvation Army. You are all gems! Thanks to you we will help those in need for another year. Bless you!

That as a grandmother who has cooked the turkey supper and did all the extras that come along with Christmas, I too got frustrated with the so called women’s duty. So don’t feel guilty if you feel overwhelmed and decide to just order Chinese food or get it done through a Deli already prepared. I did the same thing one year and than came back to the house for dessert or drinks. Worked great and all had a good time. The mother gets the brunt of every holiday.

I would like to give my heartfelt thanks to the Medicine Hat city worker who found my wallet on a trail and handed it in to the police. I would also like to give my thanks to the police officer who went out of his way to return the wallet to me with all its contents intact. A true Christmas gift ,and I hope representative of the many kind and honest people in this lovely city.
