A bit of both… That I couldn’t send any Christmas cards out, so my grand-daughter showed me how to email my friends and attach a picture. It saved me more than $50 from all the cards I send, and I even got some replies back already. So I guess I’m both TO and TP. Ticked Off Police should be able to use photo radar more than the province will allow starting in April. Having said that, police can deny all they want, but there was a time in the past that it was being used irresponsibly as a cash cow. Ticked Off That again the UCP are bad. Let’s hire four or more officers doing laser instead of photo radar, at a cost of $100,000 or $200,000 more on our city taxes. We will all pay for the speeders. Ticked Off That the UCP has again decided to proceed with uninformed, sweeping changes in another sector without consulting experts first. Our police chief describes the province’s actions as a “slap in the face.” Seems like the UCP just enjoys slapping faces. Teachers association? Slap. Medical association? Slap. Police? Slap. Personally, I don’t find the UCP’s poor, ham-fisted, incompetent decisions that much of a surprise anymore. Ticked Off The UCP’s actions to remove 70% of photo radar, which will undoubtedly cause more speeding, more crashes and more deaths, is just another example of how incompetent this government is. How can they so blatantly disregard human safety in the name of partisan politics? It’s disgusting. Ticked Off Welcome to the Danielle Smith militant regime with all the “bill, bill, bills” passed in legislature to control your life. Ticked Off Just watching the game between Tigers and Swift Current Broncos. Just saw a man in the crowd holding a stuffed tiger and letting a child punch it. Wow, what class. Not. Ticked Off That travellers are complaining about the rising costs Canadian airlines are imposing. If you can afford to travel don’t complain that Canadian pocket books are hurting. They need to make money on their end and are not in the business of saving you money. I can’t travel because I simply can’t afford it. Ticked Off The local “taxpayer” group does not “cause” administration to make recommendations. Administration has a right to choose their actions, behaviours and consequences like every other human on the planet. The blame shifting is actually unbearable. The city could also choose to communicate if that were truth. Ticked Off The premier sees AI hubs as power partners for Alberta, meanwhile a new science study finds that AI fact checks can increase belief in false headlines. The premier probably likes that. Ticked Off At people who think the city should not support HALO because it is a rural thing. You just don’t get any more stupid than that. Ticked Off Trump gets impeached for trying to investigate the Biden corruption in Ukraine. Hunter Biden now gets pardoned retroactively for 10 years for that exact corruption that he hasn’t even been charged for yet. But sure, keep thinking Trump is the corrupt one. Tickled Pink Being a resident of the City of Medicine Hat, it is appreciated that 75% (in a News online poll) voted for city council to provide HALO air rescue with $250,000 a year. The Life for Flight begins with HALO. Ticked Off I’m not happy either that the Tigers weren’t chosen to host the 2026 Memorial Cup, but please, fans, do not boo the Kelowna Rockets when they come to town. That would be total disrespect and I know the Tigers fans are much better than that. Go Tigers Go! Ticked Off As a retired teacher I’m astounded by the provincial government’s insistence on hand-counting ballots at the expense of cash-strapped municipalities. All government-administered multiple choice Diploma Exams have always been machine scored and the technology is the same. Wake up, Albertans. Ticked Off That Danielle Smith and her far-right crusaders continue to fan the flames of hate in this province. Once they’re done with trans youth, what minority will they come after next? These kids don’t deserve to be thrust into political pandering, and will now be the targets of hateful and bigoted attacks. She has opened the door to this kind of behaviour, and I fear it won’t stop with the trans community. Ticked Off What is wrong with a so called ‘cash cow’? Money is being made off people who break the law. Sad that the government wants to over rule safety for a bunch of whiners who want to drive fast. Ticked Off To all the fans whining about not getting the Memorial Cup, don’t forget that Kelowna was going to be the host in 2020 until it was cancelled by COVID. So you think just maybe because of this that’s why they were awarded the Memorial Cup again? Instead of whining about just get ready to bid on more in the future and suck it up. Tickled Pink If we got an MCC, if it means completely no involvement from this council or anyone on the current energy management team. Clean house. Ticked Off Our national leader of the opposition is sadly lacking in his responsibilities. Not only refusing to learn about potential/(real) external influence on fellow MPs, but now not being honest and real about the potential damage to all of Canada by US tariffs. He has an awful lot to learn about Canadians, politics and life before he advances to the next level. Tickled Pink At WestJet’s new scheduled times, makes great connections in YYC for holiday travelling. If we all support them by flying from the Hat, we have a better chance of them adding an additional flight going forward and continuing their association with Medicine Hat. Tickled Pink If the City of Medicine Hat would just act like a junior oil company and absolve itself of all its abandoned/non-operational wells. The premier has no issue putting that bill on the rest of taxpayers when it’s a private company. Our city should play the same game. Ticked Off If you drive the speed limit, traffic calming measures shouldn’t hamper you. To the others, before you criticize, look in the mirror. Tickled Pink You’re right, the city shouldn’t support HALO. Keep your money. Just don’t expect HALO to be there when your loved one has a wreck on Highway 3. 49
