Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 12, 2024

Tickled Pink

With Aaron at the city taking personal accountability for trust. Finally, an actual leader demonstrating the city’s mission and values.

Tickled Pink

That the premier has the UCP confidence vote of 91%; too bad she had to buy those votes instead of actually having the guts to let the people of the province vote for her.

Ticked Off

Oh my. Another cyclist who can’t figure out how to safely ride in the city. Maybe you should park your bike and walk. Oh no, you probably can’t figure out how to safely walk on the sidewalk either.

Ticked Off

The only thing “vexatious or frivolous” about the city and FOIP requests is the mayor and council.

Ticked Off

A nearly 12% tax increase over two years and increased utilities. Stop spending on non-essentials. You’re making sure citizens have to do without.

Ticked Off

Why in our society are we saving people from embarrassment? Embarrassment is an emotion of shame when your inadequacy or guilt is made public. It is meant to be a signal to the one feeling embarrassment to change behaviour. Guilt means you are doing something wrong.

Tickled Pink

To have a conversation with the Trump lovers on this platform after he slams his promised tariffs on all imports coming into that country. You do realize the U.S. is our biggest trading partner, right?

Ticked Off

Was embarrassed to see all the positive reaction to the U.S. election, but then again, we live in Alberta.

Tickled Pink

It sure speaks volumes that Trump won in a red wave. Perhaps more of a referendum on the liberal elite in the States? People don’t want governments to give us handouts. We want the opportunity to do our life with as little government intervention as possible.

Ticked Off

With how the city spends tax dollars on “roundabouts” when attempting to slow traffic, when four stop signs are easier and less expensive with a better outcome.

Tickled Pink

There is a lot of talk about traffic calming in residential areas. Perhaps the city should look at what Edmonton has done to slow traffic. The speed limit is 40 km/h except where posted.

Ticked Off

It is hard to believe 80 million people want a felon, liar, cheat (as well as many other character flaws) to be their leader. Very sad.

Ticked Off

Right wingers like to refer to the lying left-wing media or fake news but never give examples. The real lying media giant FOX News makes no apology about being a Republican network and has been fined hundreds of millions on multiple occasions for lying.

Ticked Off

That green bin pickup was finished so early. Much potential compost will now go in the garbage.

Tickled Pink

Of course ‘Murica would choose a criminal over a prosecutor – enjoy your mess. You can’t say he didn’t tell you exactly the kind of dictatorship he was going to run. Maybe the tasty roadkill instead of health care will make it all better.

Ticked Off

That $35 million would even be considered for the entertainment circus called Stampede, instead of for, oh I don’t know, solving homelessness in the city and opening an actual Urgent Care clinic for those without 24-hour family doctors.

Tickled Pink

Easy to cheer for Trump’s win and hope for the same here. The same here would mean no more free health care. Think about it.

Tickled Pink

North Korea’s capital city has 22-metre bronze statues of its former great leaders who are revered like gods in that country. I could see Donald Trump commissioning an even taller, much bigglier, statue of himself placed beside the Statue of Liberty because he, too, is a Great Leader.

Ticked Off

That it took eight years for the province to discover AIMCo leaking money. Next request will be that I vote yes in a ‘non-binding’ referendum for them to manage my CPP fund and I will make more money and get a better pension. Good luck selling that three legged horse.

Ticked Off

Can’t understand why Medicine Hat has weekly garbage pickup with those huge bins. I moved here from another metro city where pickup of the smaller bins (about 1/3 the size of these) was every two weeks. If you need to cut budgets this seems to be a reasonable way to cut the budget by reducing the pickups.

Ticked Off

That our Alberta provincial forestry minister thinks the best way to determine the population of wolverines and lynx is to lift the trapping limits on these animals instead of doing any research.

Ticked Off

No rides for veterans on Remembrance Day? The city has sunk to a new low by not supplying rides this year. They better remember who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom today. This city is becoming a real embarrassment.

Ticked Off

Now that the dust has settled after the circus called the 2024 U.S. election, the people have spoken. They sure got what they asked for. I believe the Republicans could have chosen a better leader. Oh, well. On with the show!

Ticked Off

MH Utility Ratepayers Association bringing in climate denial people to discourage renewables? Combine that with the Black Hatters trying to drive human rights with an uneducated agenda, and it says a lot about Medicine Hat. Gee, and we wonder this is the forgotten corner of Alberta, let alone the country, and has stagnant growth with no job opportunities beyond minimum wage. Medicine Hat remains a backward place.

Tickled Pink

With how quickly the flyers that were spilled on Dunmore Hill and surrounding area were cleaned up.

Tickled Pink

A friend convinced me to try the coffee bean guy who goes to the farmers market; am I ever glad I did! It’s delicious coffee, it’s locally roasted, he delivers, too. I have tried many coffee beans from local roasters to Alberta roasters, this is the best. A better bean for a better cup.
