Tickled Pink A very big thank-you to REDI for going above and beyond the call of duty during the passing of my brother. Ticked Off Some councillors needs a lesson in fortitude and ethics. Remember, your finger pointing has four fingers pointing back at yourself. Leave your high-and-mighty attitudes at the door. Ticked Off I was shocked to hear council cancelled the meeting on Aug. 19, when on the same day, I read in the News several members said they had no time to get regular work done because they were so busy with a fight with the mayor. Ticked Off A few years ago the city talked about Brier Run development in northwest Crescent Heights. They had a sample design, but it doesn’t appear it will ever get developed. Tickled Pink Mayor Clark’s, “I have nothing to say!” (because the evidence may incriminate you?) is not the response an innocent city leader would offer if given a platform to vindicate herself. Have no doubt, her lawsuit awaits us, with all Hatters on the hook to pay up. Sorry, bullies should not be rewarded. Ticked Off At the adult men riding huge electric bikes at the highest speed they’ll go on sidewalks in the Hamptons and Vista Heights. One barely missed a mom with an infant stroller and toddler on a tricycle. I actually stopped my car as the bike was so big it looked like a full size dirt bike. Tickled Pink How often do you get so many people to agree on something? Council is full of qualified, professional, experienced people who all stand as one against the behaviour of one individual. Speaks volumes. Ticked Off FYI, most bikers on the trails do have bells or horns to warn walkers. It’s the few who don’t have them, or choose not to use them, that give us bikers a bad name. Thank you! Ticked Off If our premier gets a pass on her previous job’s talk-show chatter, I’m quite sure Charles Adler should be forgiven as a senator in Manitoba. We all have said or done things in our past we are not proud of today. Hey, it’s called forgiveness as a Canadian. Ticked Off How ironic that the wolves are coming for another feeding for the mayor after the court case. Ticked Off A massive, looming rail shutdown under a spineless prime minister isn’t front page worthy, but conservatives accidentally using the wrong jets in a video is? The bias is just beyond embarrassing at this point. (Editor’s note: There has been a story every single day, most teased from the front, on the rail strike – which has nothing to do with the prime minister or his bone deficiencies – and printed on a page where we have the space to run every single word. Meanwhile, we put half of one story about the Conservative party gaffe on front to fill a hole 350 words long. Would you rather we just cut off 400 words from the “massive, looming” rail strike story next time so you can feel better about balance in the media? Or could you maybe take a five-second break from assuming EVERY. SINGLE. THING. is a conspiracy against you, and just grow up instead? Your call.) Ticked Off Thanks, AHS; 35 years of employment, I got an empty envelope with a pre-typed letter with laser signatures and a pin. I love my job but I doubt anyone would be thrilled to get this after 35 years of service, and be presented with 1.75% raise when inflation is more than 12% in that time. The respect and appreciation for medical professionals has definitely declined and you wonder why so many of us are leaving the profession. Ticked Off That there is a court case of the City of Medicine Hat v. the Mayor. It used to be that the elected mayor was part of the City of Medicine Hat. Ticked Off People don’t know what they don’t know. So maybe people should not jump to conclusions when they have only heard one side of the story, especially journalists. Tickled Pink Council, it’s important to remember the mayor was democratically elected in by the people for this term. Let her do her job. 33-32
