Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Aug. 6, 2024

Tickled Pink

To the person who thinks Ralph Klein was the best premier, I got a great laugh out of that. You should look a little farther back in Alberta’s history to a guy named Lougheed. Check out his record. Makes Klein look like Smith.

Ticked Off

If one of the soccer powerhouses got caught cheating, FIFA and IOC would have done nothing. Pick on Canada is the easiest thing for others to do. Yes, we cheated, but FIFA is in no position to tell others how not to cheat. Just look how they cheated every other country out of the 2022 World Cup to line their pockets with money. Biggest cheaters in the world.

Tickled Pink

When Pierre Poilievre becomes prime minister. Then who will he blame for Canada’s problems? You can only blame Justin for so long, then it’s your problem. Tell us how you’re going to fix things instead of telling whose fault it is.

Tickled Pink

That the editor’s mom tells him who to pick on, and who not to. That’s a good boy. (Editor’s note: OK, it’s starting to actually be concerning how far a bad but obvious joke from six months ago cleared over your head. Please don’t be in charge of anything that matters.)

Tickled Pink

I keep waking up next to this beautiful woman for the last 46 years! She seems to still like me! I guess I’ll keep telling her I love her so she’ll stay!

Ticked Off

If capacity is being capped and there are line ups at Hill Pool, maybe this means the community wants more and really values outdoor pools. Please renovate and open Heights Pool, city.

Tickled Pink

Mayor Clark, you are truly an inspiration. You were treated extremely inequitably – city councilllors should hang their heads in shame, especially the incumbents – and still you carry on, doing your work for the good of Medicine Hat citizens. We are blessed to have you.

Tickled Pink

That the full Stampede Parade was shown a few times a day on TV. This was on the Rogers Shaw community channel.

Tickled Pink

So pleased that the waist high wild mustard weeds on the Riverside berm were mowed last week. A big thank-you to the company hired by the city. I just wish it could have been done before the weeds went to seed.

Ticked Off

If you ask 10 people what “fair” is, you’ll get 11 different answers. Don’t depend on the government or your employer to allow you to be content.

Ticked Pink

I will take dealing with dogs in a store before dealing with the person who keeps sending in to TOTP. I think you may need anger management courses.

Tickled Pink

Excellent article by Ann Mitchell. Hopefully Mayor Clark’s supporters have read it so they begin to understand the Alberta municipal governance model.

Ticked Off

The current UCP gave a private business owner money to build an arena, but won’t come to the table on the green line, which the previous UCP leader withdrew money from after being voted in.

Tickled Pink

At how well Canada is being represented by its athletes at the 2024 Olympics. Special commendation goes to Summer McIntosh, whose string of victories has raised Canada from a possible 19th place to an impressive ninth.

Tickled Pink

A huge thank-you to our local Community View Lions Club for their generous donation to Meals on Wheels! You’ve set a very good example.

Ticked Off

That ad hominem attacks are allowed in TOTP such as calling someone “you idiot.” Disagreement is fine, but attacks on the person instead of the person’s viewpoint is low class and yields disqualification in logical argument.

Tickled Pink

I have had the opportunity to enjoy a variety of Medicine Hat events with Canada Day and the Medicine Hat Stampede. I have really enjoyed seeing our mayor out and about interacting with citizens and giving speeches. I am very impressed with her kindness and sincerity.

Tickled Pink

Decided to do some downtown shopping today, and it was amazing. Lots and lots of sale items from local clothing stores. It is worth a trip to get something different.

Ticked Off

The city parks department is letting the lawn die along Dunmore Road.

Tickled Pink

The “growth” this city needs is more, more and more well-paying jobs. The living wage here is $17.35 full-time work. It is high-paying jobs that will keep our kids from leaving.

Tickled Pink

Happy birthday to all those born in August. This is a good month to be a Leo!

Ticked Off

Traffic is getting more dangerous. There are additional modes of transportation that are putting both at more risk. I don’t believe in the name of progress lives should be at risk. Medicine Hat roads are not designed for bike lanes throughout city, and carelessness can cost someone’s life.
