Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, July 9, 2024

Tickled Pink

I am 68 years old, work full time, love my job and have no plans to retire. I pay taxes, CPP and EI. For those who think I should retire, so they can better find a job, I would offer this suggestion, learn a trade. That’s what I did. Takes four years of dedication and commitment. Then you will have no problem finding employment.

Ticked Off

Can’t find any one to work. Why is that? Our children for the last how many years have been taught that there are no winners or losers because you might hurt someone’s feelings. No one fails a grade. No reason to learn how to work hard or why to work hard. I’m sorry but this is our future.

(Editors note: Surely that’s the kid’s fault, not those who have passed on that belief.)

Tickled Pink

If the City would convert the old Arena into indoor pickle ball courts. This sport is growing by leaps and bounds in our city and it would be wonderful to be able to play indoors all winter.

Ticked Off

I’m getting really tired of criticism of the ‘one citizen’ who is constantly in the news, trying to get answers for our city residents and is objecting to the decisions that they make because they stonewall. We have some very intelligent and well-experienced residents, please let them do what their democratic right to do is. It’s annoying to keep watching council and the disrespect and disregard this citizen. Council and the City should calm down and stop this behaviour.

Tickled Pink

Tickled Pink if the person who feels us older people should retire, I will happily give you my job if you are going to pay my bills as well.

Ticked Off

Ticked off at how our premier promised during the election to get more doctors to come to our province. Where are they? More and more clinics are closing, the lines at ERs are growing, but we have a new office in Ontario, a new name for the war room and a big argument with Ottawa. Oh how she’s proud of those! How about making your promises come true!

Tickled Pink

Tickled pink with the kind soul who turned in my phone/wallet combo to information at Kin Coulee’s Canada Day celebration with the cash un-touched.

Ticked Off

Does anyone at our local tv station even care that local people play sports? Always reports on the major leagues, so he doesn’t have to do any “reporting” on our Medicine Hat athletes! Numerous reports about USA stuff, but nothing about provincial championships that we win here!

Tickled Pink

Tickled pink at the older folks at work who arrive on time, leave on time and can stay off their personal phones for longer than 20 minutes. You actually want to talk with people! You are earning your paycheck and am grateful for your service to the community. We all see you.

Ticked Off

Great Job to the flaggers that are working on Parkview Dr. I just wish that Altawana Drive construction would hurry up and be completed. Also, to the trucking company that is working on it, please note kids are watching and it is dangerous showing them it is okay to stand on running boards while driving up an down the hill. I have seen this many times now. Please be safer and ride in the cab as the law states you should. Everyone should go home the same way they came to work. Alive and incident free.

Tickled Pink

With the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Recently I had a six-day stay in the hospital. I was treated by a very caring and professional medical staff. Especially the nurses and staff on 4 West. The citizens of this city are fortunate to have this hospital, doctors and nurses at our service. Thank you all for making my stay pleasant and stress free.

Tickled Pink

If the CPC can hold cities accountable for housing, let’s hope they hold the UCP accountable for doctor shortages throughout the province knowing they spend billions on healthcare equipment and facilities. Albertans deserve better healthcare.
