Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, May 9, 2024

Tickled Pink

To all those participants who cleaned up the highway! A big thank-you!

Ticked Off

You know things are so bad with city council and administration when you have people of all political standings agreeing that something is rotten at city hall.

Ticked Off

Bylaw, wake up regarding excess trailers, skid steers on front driveways. Looks terrible. Getting no answers when complaint is issued through city hall.

Ticked Off

That the UCP’s unnecessary and malicious restrictions on renewable power have made it so a 300-megawatt wind project in southern Alberta is now cancelled. According to the UCP, clean wind turbine energy is a “threat” to Alberta, while open pit coal mining in the Rockies is just fine apparently.

Ticked Off

This is disturbing. How is the mayor meant to have oversight over financials when the city administration is withholding this information?

Ticked Off

That numerous “leaders ” around the world say, “We’re going to war with someone.” These cowards never “go,” they just send others to die! Too bad the soldiers can’t refuse and say, “If you want a war, you go die for it!”

Tickled Pink

That Leafs nation have to put the parade plans on hold. (Again). Ticked Off that two Canadian teams have to play each other.

Ticked Off

That all these news agencies comment how Trump will go to jail. He will be found guilty, but the only time he’ll spend in jail is visiting his flunkies.

Ticked Off

That people in this city would fall for the premier blowing wind at us. She has been here a few times and thinks she knows how we operate. She does not.

Tickled Pink

People of this city know what we have and we have tried to get big industry interested with our low cost of energy. But our lack of big-city attitude keeps them from coming in. Don’t change, Medicine Hat residents, as we are in the unique corner of the province.

Ticked Off

It is unfortunate that the present mayor appears meek surrounded by a group of sharks. Hang in mayor, many have your back. The truth shall prevail, so to speak.

Tickled Pink

Thank you, Bob Wanner, for your commentary on the proper role of council in a civic role. This council should be ashamed of itself for its disastrous handling of everything and I hope the voters take them to task next year on election day.

Ticked Off

It appears we have a lot of the councillors not doing the job they were voted in for. Assuming policies and procedures are being followed is not good enough.

Tickled Pink

That a reader wrote in using Shakespearean times which was super hard to understand.

Ticked Off

The editor pretending to be his mom and wrote in to pat himself on the back. What a joke. (Editor’s note: Dad, I thought we talked about this!)

Tickled Pink

Tons of rain in this fair city in the past week and it shows with all the blooming trees. Our city is beautiful.

Tickled Pink

If people would use rain barrels. However, if you do not know how to protect this standing water you should not be using them. Mosquitoes love standing water, but a thin layer of vegetable oil on top of the water should kill the larvae.

Tickled Pink

Sunny days are coming, and so are the pesky mosquitoes. Be prepared.

Ticked Off

At how city council is finding every excuse to not give Mayor Clark their expense sheets. What’s going on down there at city hall, people?

Tickled Pink

If Telus would bring in portable 5G towers until we have sufficient permanent ones, as was done when the eclipse occurred and many people were at Niagara Falls.

Tickled Pink

The next time someone honks at me because I slowed down to navigate a big, unknown pothole in the pouring rain is going to get a nice surprise. Nice for me, but not so much for you.

Ticked Off

I am beginning to think “Gas City” has nothing to do with what is underground. Instead, it is a body function toward all Hatters from this kakistocracy city council.

Ticked Off

Alberta announces six-person committee to help speed up oilsands tailings reclamation. If Smith spent money on homeless like she does on her ideology, they would all live in mansions.

Ticked Off

We need new playground equipment and water parks updated, especially in Ross Glen. Have you looked at it in the past few years? It’s unsafe and looks horrible. Look at playgrounds in Calgary. We need a few new playgrounds.

Ticked Off

Water conservation incentives are great but council adding another fee to utility bills is just too much for those already struggling to make ends met.

Ticked Off

Who arranged for the city to buy property in Brier Park that wasn’t listed and for an over priced amount a few years ago? Just asking for some citizens who want transparency.

Ticked Off

Very upset with Danielle Smith and UCP. They are trying to control municipalities, along with other control measures to make Alberta a one-party province. People need to look at what she is doing and vote her and the party out next election. They are way too comfortable thinking they are invincible.

Tickled Pink

With our city and much of the surrounding area still facing drought conditions, it would be wonderful if people would stop rinsing every single dish and cup before putting the items in the dishwasher. It’s a terrible waste of water to leave the tap running. Please, people, just give it a try.
