I am stunned that after the mess the Klein tax cuts and privatization of the 1990s caused we are going to do the same thing all over and seemingly expect different results. It didn’t work then, and took two decades to recover, and now we are going to do the same thing and may never fully recover – as we no longer have the billions from oil and gas revenues we had last time. Politicians seem to be the only ones that don’t abide by the old saying live and learn as they barely ever do, just keep repeating the same mistakes of the past.

To those people who believe wearing a mask is a violation of your freedom and civil liberties, I hate to tell you, you lost them a long time ago. Think of airport security; think of no shirt, no shoes no service; think of PPE safety equipment at work; think of the new impaired driving regulations. Yes, you lost certain freedoms eons ago.

I can’t believe there are people out there that still don’t get what is a very simple thing. They want to run around without a mask and purposely spread a deadly virus while others they come into contact with are protecting them from the same fate, as they are wearing a mask. By wearing a mask you are doing more to protect other people than protecting yourself.

Scott Schmidt’s recent comments in the News were right on! Our provincial and municipal government’s leadership has been very disappointing during this pandemic. This is not about being popular politicians, it’s about protecting voters rights to remain healthy, including the ill informed and uncaring minority that feel their constitutional rights are being ignored!

Hope you people are happy with COVID rules, can’t visit your own family, wow. We need to fight to get our freedoms back before we lose them all together.

Come on Medicine Hat pull it together and everyone do your part! Masks, social distancing, hand washing, staying home more and no gatherings. If we all do this we could possibly be with loved ones this Christmas.

Instead of defunding of the Police let’s enact term limits for city mayors and councillors allowing fresh ideas and an end to career politicians whose only contribution is adding to the pension liability of taxpayers!

At the left wing nuts who think conservatism is bad they should get their heads out of the sand travel to a few countries like Russia, China, Middle East and North Korea and see how people have to live. Be very careful what you wish for.
