Ticked Off and Tickled Pink Feb. 18, 2020

Ticked Off

Need a four-wheel drive vehicle to cross Finlay Bridge again.

Ticked Off

That this city council is so cowardly they kowtow to the religious zealots that vote for them and refuse to stand with the rest of the rational world against conversion therapy. Pathetic.

Ticked Off

The United We Roll movement crossed the picket line of oil and gas workers striking to defend their retirement security. Shame! I thought that movement was for the workers, but I guess they’re just corporate boot lickers after all.

Ticked Off

Medicine Hat leads bankruptcies in the province and city council can pat themselves on the back as their constant increases for services helped this along.

Ticked Off

Justin “not my prime minister” Trudeau would waste taxpayers money by travelling to African nations and grovelling for a useless seat on the UN Security Council.

Ticked Off

Mr. Clugston, you are so deeply in Kenny’s pocket it’s sickening. Our CCP is fine. I’m a senior and so far can manage. What we need are rent caps.

Ticked Off

That our provincial government let the big CEOs of oil/gas walk all over us in those 40-plus years.

Ticked Off

That an increasing number of restaurants are “reappropriating” percentages of the tips belonging to their servers to pay for their operating costs.

Ticked Off

So the Canalta Centre is bringing a nice, popular family show to town (Baby Shark) and it could cost a family of four close to $300. for just the tickets. This is ridiculous, to say the least.

Ticked Off

The Liberal government has shown they have no real appetite for Alberta’s energy industry this province needs to do like Quebec and control its own resources licensing projects without the feds’ blessing!

Tickled Pink

That our local MLA refers to the governing party he is a part of as “they.” Is he trying to distance himself from unpopular policy decisions?

Tickled Pink

That a misguided local doctor believes that our mayor and council should interfere in an area of provincial jurisdiction. Health is clearly the responsibility of the province and our municipal government has zero responsibility with respect to a supervised consumption site.

Ticked Off

The money Trudeau gave to Ethiopia would be better spent subsidizing the housing crisis in our own country.

Ticked Off

Statistics Canada reported Canada gained 34,500 jobs in January 2020; for Alberta the result was a loss of 18,900 jobs. Not quite what was promised.

Tickled Pink

If the deer and rabbit population could get transferred back into the wild where they belong.

Tickled Pink

The over-budget dollars for the TMX pipeline project will be spent on wages for Canadian workers, and not foreign oil. The money will stay in our country.

Ticked Off

MLA Michaela Glasgo should have run for school board or city council before entering provincial politics. It is obvious with the current conversation and our economic woes she is like a fish out of water – hopeless.

Ticked Off

When did it get so bad to be old? Even those who claim to be young today will be older tomorrow! Is it not the goal of everyone to be able to live a good, long life?
