Ticked Off and Tickled Pink Jan. 23, 2020

Ticked Off

My insurance company has bought into this climate change crap. Really, where is the proof? Maybe charge more to distracted drivers causing more accidents.

Tickled Pink

I’ve probably missed more Sunday sermons than I should have but I’m thankful the UCP government could remind me that God did not ask his faithful to collect alms from the poor to assist the wealthy.

Ticked Off

That some snow removal companies do not have respect for their customers’ neighbours. If you use a leaf blower and blow the snow onto the neighbour’s property, clean it up.

Ticked Off

I love that the opinion section has become the place for right-wing reporters to go to spread misinformation when the facts contradict their nonsense.

Tickled Pink

England’s Royal Family is starting to show its cracks.

Tickled Pink

On the letter “Let the seniors run the Veiner Centre.” That’s exactly what we need. It should have been built downtown with all the other businesses operating like it’s still 1962!

Tickled Pink

As a shopper at Northlands Co-op the friendliness and helpfulness I receive is amazing. And a special kudos to the young boy helping customers and bringing in carts all day in the cold weather.

Ticked Off

That a local church would not allow us to have a meeting in their meeting room. We are a non-profit and many of our members attend that church. Obviously the church has enough money and they don’t need a donation for the use of the room.

Ticked Off

By opening the taps to ship bitumen, Kenney opens the way to the “bitumen bubble” of 2010s. Can we afford another economic hit?

Ticked Off

B.C. swoops in to hire specialized Alberta rappel firefighters whose program was cut last year. Nice move, UCP.

Tickled Pink

At the outrage toward our “lefty” newspaper.

Tickled Pink

The letter from Kathy Baker was great! There are caps and budget restraints why more surgeries aren’t done. There are staff hours that need to be considered (staff only can work so many hours a day). Frontline workers are important and hard working.

Ticked Off

UCP playbook: Introduce a bad policy, create a crisis, roll it back. Already happened with physician fees and daycare centres. Many more examples to come.

Tickled Pink

At the money the power plant is making for the city. Good job, operators and technicians.

Ticked Off

That our prime minister is not up for an Academy Award for best actor in a real life interview!

Tickled Pink

That my generation got to grow up with the Nintendo 64, playing “007 Golden Eye” and the original “Super Smash Bros.” Video games now are trash.

Ticked Off

With the wasteful money this current government is spending. Your so-called “fair deal panel” could of been done within a week and taken all info during a meeting.

Tickled Pink

Thank you to the city for having the foresight to attract and implement more business to this city and create more tax dollars to help this city grow.

Tickled Pink

If you could get rich for being lazy and whiny, lefties would all be billionaires!

Ticked Off

I am tired of people walking around our neighbourhood with their dogs unleashed! We have deer here, and their dog chases and barks at them, then they wonder why they get chased by a huge buck!

Ticked Off

It seems like all the young men of today’s generation look alike because they all have beards. Maybe the only way to tell them apart is to check their tattoos.

Ticked Off

Hard to believe how the people of Medicine Hat are getting ripped off by the gas prices. Walsh is selling gas for 97.9 cents a litre. Unbelievable.

Ticked Off

It seems that most UCP supporters are also supporters of Trump. What is amusing is the biggest criticism UCP supporters seem to have about the NDP is the deficits they had in spite of them improving health care and education in the province. Why are you not criticizing Trump for the same reason?

Tickled Pink

Thank you to the city employees who responded to a pedestrian light malfunction so quickly. Your simple report system and prompt service is greatly appreciated!

Tickled Pink

This province needs a 21st century Robin Hood. Someone who takes from the rich to give to the working poor.

Amusing that lefties still think comparing someone to Trump is an insult. Trump has done infinitely more for the USA than Trudeau has done for Canada. The USA is thriving, Canada is not, despite Trudeau trying to change the acting role he is performing.

According to the January 11 edition of the Economist, over the last year the increase in GDP for the US was 2.1%, which is slightly better than Canada’s GDP increase of 1.7%. The Economist also reports that the US federal deficit is 4.6% of GDP while Canada’s is only 0.9%. The Congressional Budget Office reports a US federal deficit of $984 billion for 2019. This is $3007 per American resident. Recent update for Canada expects a federal deficit of $28.1 billion for fiscal year end March 31, 2020. This is $747 per Canadian resident. The US deficit is four times the Canadian deficit per resident. The American economy is doing better than most economies but it is due to the excessive deficit. Trump is too scared to cut spending to reduce the deficit because he knows this will hurt the economy. The Republicans use to campaign on a balanced budget amendment. Now they turn a blind eye to deficits when they use to condemn them.
