There is a very informative session online. The session is about 50 minutes long but it explains ... Read More »

Re: Cartoon of Dec. 20 showing conservatives as chicken little types on immigration I believe that a national debate on immigration is needed before we get to the point of social disintegration that many other western countries suffering from uncontrolled migration and immigration problems have reached. The cartoon furthers the division of people between the ... Read More »

Re: The rezoning and development of Primrose parcel I am very saddened, disappointed and concerned by my experience with city council on the rezoning for development of green space on Primrose in Connaught. A consultation process produced an overwhelmingly negative response to the proposal. Ninety-two per cent of people commenting on the proposal were opposed. ... Read More »

I was disappointed, but not surprised, to read the words of our MP, Glen Motz, in the Dec. 21 News, where he said “The carbon tax is not going to change emissions … It hasn’t been proven to reduce emissions anywhere.” Mr. Motz’s words show that he is uninformed. I will not repeat what Dennis ... Read More »

Re: “Motz says investment climate hurt because of carbon tax,” Dec. 21 Despite recent statements from Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner MP Glen Motz there is good reason to believe a carbon tax can have positive effects. The Top Line on the front page of the Dec. 29 Medicine Hat News reads: “One and the same — PM compares new Tories to old.” If you are not a left wing socialist maybe that is good. Stephen Harper is an economist. His government received accolades from around the world for getting Canada through ... Read More »

Parents drop their kids off at school expecting them to learn mathematics, reading and writing. They do not expect their underage children to be ushered off school property during class time “without their knowledge” and provided with over 100 condoms and a disturbingly graphic “how-to” sexual flip book. During a recent Court of Appeal hearing, ... Read More »

Montreal diverted its sewage to the St. Lawrence River; shortly thereafter beluga whales started dying. The deaths were blamed on tanker traffic. No deaths were reported before or after restoration of the sewage treatment. Victoria is just now in the process of building a Sewage Treatment Facility to serve only the Greater Victoria area, rather ... Read More »

Around Nov. 9 many western newspapers contained a letter by Ian Robson of Manitoba, which pointed out the fallacy of former Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz being inducted to the Agriculture Hall of Fame. A later issue contained a letter by Kevin Bender (Chairman of Alberta Wheat Commission) strongly disagreeing with Robson’s analysis of why Ritz ... Read More »
