Liberal and Conservative governments have consistently allowed us to remain the world’s sole country that has universal healthcare but does not similarly cover ... Read More »

The potential influence of local mask survey results are concerning. Many older citizens, and others not online, were unable to participate in the recent Chamber of Commerce survey, where results did not favour mandating mask wearing. The smaller “News” survey results do not agree with the COC results, and in fact are entirely opposite, with ... Read More »

I want to extend my deep appreciation to Aaron, who works in the oilfields and lives in Medicine Hat. Aaron selflessly and skillfully came to my rescue when I slipped on a rock coming down from Upper Bertha Falls in Waterton National Park on August 27. Thanks to you, I got through the first hour ... It is with profound disappointment that I read that a decision is pending regarding moving laundry services from the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital to Lethbridge. Whether it is to be privatized or kept in the public domain, laundry service is too essential to be located away from a regional hospital. There is a maxim, often ... Read More »

This is a life-threatening situation for me so I am self-isolating in my home. Now that our communities are opening up, ... Read More »

The Alberta Medical Association should seriously consider the compensation model for Alberta teachers for its profession. The salaries are the highest in northern Canada according to Statistics Canada, a range from $ 59,500 to $94,100 (2017 – 2018). Beginning teachers will receive an annual increment estimated at four to six per cent for eight consecutive ... Read More »
