Letter: Thank you, Medicine Hat, it was a pleasure from start to finish

Dear editor,

The closure of CHAT-TV meant that my employment ended too.

I’m not bitter, but thankful.

The viewers of CHAT-TV and the listeners of WILD 94.5 and MY 96 allowed me to speak with them on a daily basis since 1989.

If you add up my first tour at CHAT from 1978 to 1981 and then my time as sports director at the original 1390 CJCY AM, I was a broadcaster in Medicine Hat for more than 42 years.

It was a privilege to be afforded that level of trust for so many years and I just wanted to say thank you.

I’m not ready to retire though, as Bilbo Baggins said “I think I’m quite ready for another adventure!”

What that adventure will be is an unwritten story in the History of Our Town.
