Letter: From the outside, it seems the pool delay at Big Marble Go Centre was unnecessary

Dear editor,

I see that the reopening of the pool area at the Big Marble Go Centre has now been delayed from Sept. 15 to Oct 11.

The problem is, the last three visits I’ve had to the centre, I’ve seen a grand total of no more than two people working in the area each time. Seems to not be a whole lot of urgency on the project, from the outside looking in.

This has been going on since May 15 of this year, so we are looking at a five-month total closure.

Just curious if there has been any feedback from the city as to why the opening has been delayed by a month, when it seems that so little work is going on.

I feel for the lifeguards who are losing shifts during this extended closure, and the thousands of people who use the facility.
