Letter: Thank you to the city for keeping our paths clean through winter

By Letter to the Editor on March 26, 2024.

Dear editor,

Now that winter is over (fingers crossed) we should thank those responsible for clearing our walking paths around the city.

I commute by bicycle as much as possible, and there would be many days when it would be unsafe to do so if the paths were not so attentively cleared of snow before it had a chance to become ice. I am certain the money spent by our city will be nothing compared to the money saved on my health care in the long run. Sure, these are two different levels of government, but this is the kind of big-picture thinking that we need in society.

So a big thank-you to those who work tirelessly to keep our paths clean, and equally to our mayor and council who wisely invest in keeping us safe and healthy.
