Letter: Enough with the extremist-loving fake conservatism

Dear editor, The true conservatives in my world have had it with these fake conservatives and their supporters treating Albertans and Canadians like morons while they try to copy the American-style Republican Party extremists’ brand of stupidity. Apparently Pierre Poilievre hasn’t learned that this type of stupidity got Andrew Scheer and Erin O’Toole defeated, yet here he is entertaining these extremists and praising the truckers for the mess they created in Ottawa and promising to stage a repeat, ignoring the massive costs to Canadians. In other words there is nothing conservative about this guy while he bashes Trudeau for doing the right thing in his decision to ban assault rifles and handguns, with absolutely no respect for the well-being of the people. You can bet we would never have seen the conservatives under Peter Lougheed and Don Getty being this stupid. Alan K. Spiller Edmonton 8-7
