Dear editor, On Saturday, which was World Kindness Day, my friend Helen Snortland and I organized an event called Coats on Finlay. Due to the generosity and kindness of the citizens of Medicine Hat, we collected approximately 1,000 coats along with other warm winter apparel, many lovingly homemade! When we returned to the bridge on Sunday morning to collect the leftovers, about 700 coats had found new, appreciated owners. The 300 left were gladly picked up by Trisha from The Post and will be included in the Caring Coats program, meaning they are still available for free. Helen and I were overwhelmed by the kindheartedness of this community and wish to extend a heartfelt thank-you! The world is a better place because of your acts of kindness. See you again next year!
