Gun buy reminds of the firearms registry boondoggle

By Letter to the Editor on February 4, 2020.

Bill Blair, the federal public safety minister, wants to confiscate legally owned guns from Canadians. About those people he said, ” We are very mindful we are dealing with law abiding Canadians and I want to make sure they are treated fairly and respectfully.” He goes on to say, “I have nothing but respect for those who have adhered to the regulations.”

If he meant those words, what is the issue with the good guys and their guns?

He also wants a budget of $25 million to buy those guns from the good guys. The last Liberal who tried grabbing guns said the firearms registry would cost $2 million but we are now 25 years and $3 billion into this disastrous registry that makes the Phoenix payroll fiasco look like chump change.

Meanwhile gangsters and non-government certified druggies are shooting up the country. Surely there must be something in the Ottawa water that makes these politicians believe their own misguided policies.
