Kenney only looking after himself and his rich friends

Re: “Childish antics and name-calling getting old,” July 5 My senior friends and I all consider ourselves to be true Conservatives and like Travis Boser are sick and tired of the antics of these politicians who claim to be Conservatives. We thought Albertans had gotten over watching Ralph Klein make a fool of himself, and wouldn’t allow it to happen again. But no, now they have elected another clown who, by the policies he is promising has no intention of getting us out of the mess we are in. While Premier Jason Kenney continues to live off the taxpayers’ money he is only interested in looking after his own well being and that of his rich friends and we find it very disturbing how many of our fellow seniors don’t seem to care. The young people certainly do. Watching Kenney, a Liberal turned Reformer who has never been a true Conservative, feed lies to these people and watching them believe every one of them certainly explains why this province is in the mess that it’s in, as an oilman from Calgary pointed out to me last Sunday. Like all the other oilmen we talk to he says our oil wealth couldn’t have been more poorly mismanaged, and these ignorant Albertans allowed it to happen. Lougheed’s tax and royalty structures should never have been destroyed. You certainly didn’t see Peter Lougheed make a fool of himself as premier. He treated everyone of us with dignity and respect, collected proper royalties, taxes, and health-care premiums and ran this province properly. Why is it so hard for these ignorant Albertans to understand that we must get back to that level? Maybe before any of you go bad mouthing me you should provide all of us with a list of all the wonderful things Ralph Klein did for you and what Jason Kenney is promising to do that will fix the mess we are in? He’s shown nothing to those of us who had ties to the oil industry 30 years ago. Alan K. Spiller Edmonton 9-8
Wait a minute Al, is this a comment to a letter, or a letter to a comment, or a response to a comment on a letter you wrote 1, 5 or 10 years ago? I’m confused because all your horsesh!t sounds the same.
So where is your list of wonderful things Ralph Klein did for you and where are your comments about how your Liberal friend Jason Kenney is going to fix the mess you helped the Klein, Stelmach and Redford governments create? It certainly isn’t hard to understand why the American oilmen working in Alberta from Houston Texas that I was associated with 30 years ago called Albertans the dumbest people on the planet. But I’m betting you have never been to Alaska or Norway and talked to the people about what their oil wealth has done for them, have you?
Maybe you would like to explain why Alaska, with an oil production that’s extremely small compared to that of Alberta’s has $66 billion in their savings account, the people pay no State taxes , their property taxes are next to nothing and every man woman and child has received some $43,000. each since 1982 and Norway has more than $1.1 Trillion in theirs, pay nothing at all for health care, even prescription drugs are paid for, pay nothing for schooling and in fact university students are paid to go to school, no tuition fees. I sure you can come up with some idiotic comments to convince yourself that it’s not true. Of course researching it is out of the question, you can’t handle the truth.
I took my $400 Ralphie bucks and bought Google shares, I’m now the richest man in Alberta, you schmuck. How about I buy you a ticket to Norway?
