Mental Health Awareness Week is the first week in May. It is about taking care of yourself mentally and the choices you make in life. The other day I saw a fellow who I hadn’t see for some time who I barely recognized and who looked liked he may have been off his meds. At first I was disturbed to see my old friend in such a state, however, I reasoned it was his life to live, and who was I to judge. I take my meds regularly and need my routine but that is me. As my son often reminds me, “you do you.” We can’t live other people’s lives and especially when it comes to mental health we can only do what is best for ourselves. Diane MacNaughton Medicine Hat 6
