The Medicine Hat News needs to take a much bigger interest in the Todd Beasley case than it appears to want to. That is because it is a ticking time bomb that will not only test the editorial abilities of the News, but also the real truth behind the United Conservative Party, and more importantly the future of Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Government of Canada. Beasley’s condemnation by the UCP raises the question whether any Canadian has the free, democratic right to criticize Islam. Apparently not if you are intending to run for office under the UCP banner. It also raises the question as to why Prime Minister Trudeau can describe Christians as “the worst part of Canadian Society” and can be attacked for questioning Islam. You will note that I am speaking of criticism against Islam; Not criticism against Muslims. As a born-again Christian, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ calls me to love all Muslims. However, He does not expect me to love Islam. The Beasley case is interesting in that it speaks to a number of issues in our current perilous times. The first is touchy-feely political correctness which robs us of our free speech. The second is the deception that criticism of Islam is hatred towards Muslims. The third is politicians’ attempts to take away the rights of Christians to express the beliefs of The Bible and voice their opposition to issues which God has clearly stated are sins. In conclusion, I would ask Jason Kenney whether he is serious about seeking the votes of Christians in next year’s provincial election. He has said in the past that he is a devout Roman Catholic and is opposed to abortion. I would like to know if he is a serious follower of Jesus Christ. Looking at the current political landscape in Alberta, I’m not sure if any born-again Christian will even be able in good conscience to support the UCP in the coming election. I know where I stand on these issues, Rachel Notley’s NDP has made it obviously clear where it stands. I know where Trudeau stands. I want to know where Jason Kenney stands. The fact is he doesn’t want you to know he wants ignorant Alberta seniors to blindly support him, like they did Ralph Klein, before he discloses what his platform is. Never once has he shown any interest in getting this province out of the horrific financial mess they helped put us in, unless you’re dumb enough to believe that we don’t have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem and he’s going to fix everything by slashing billions off government spending by dumping the costs onto the backs of the people, like his hero Ralph Klein was doing.
