PHILADELPHIA – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says there is lots of work to do to fight for progressive values and workers on both sides of the Canada-United States border.
He says his government’s new “Team Canada” charm offensive is a continuation of long-term efforts to make North American supply chains more resilient.
Trudeau says he’s optimistic that work will continue in the coming years.
The prime minister made the comments in Pennsylvania after speaking at a convention of the Service Employees International Union.
He spoke to a receptive crowd there for about 25 minutes, highlighting Canada-U.S. trade ties and touting some of his government’s policies.
He told the American crowd about the federal Liberals’ plans to ban the use of replacement workers during a strike and provide free access to contraceptives.
