Tickled Pink If the Alberta separatist gang on Dunmore Road would move elsewhere so we can visit the food trucks again now that spring has arrived. Ticked Off Dear management and condo board: The only way to entice owners to attend the AGM is to offer free coffee and doughnuts. I guarantee you there will be standing room only. Ticked Off A great number of people need to get out of the way and changes be made so we can get some pipelines built. This includes the federal government, B.C. government, Quebec government and ECO extremists. If we don’t our country is done. Ticked Off NDP supporters just need to watch their leadership conference to see why they will never be elected in Alberta again. Ticked Off That council is even considering options to move forward with an urban hen project. For such a low minority that this is even a possibility. They can’t even regulate a dog bylaw much less such a stupid idea of hens. Ticked Off This 6.1 tax increase is pure madness and mismanagement. The tax increase with the new assessment is more than enough of a money grab. We are over staffed by a long shot. When is enough, enough? Tickled Pink If our MLAs would read the results of the online polls conducted by the News, it would/should affect their decision making helping them know the public feeling in the direction they are heading. (Editor’s note: I wouldn’t bet on it.) Tickled Pink Completely agree garbage pickup should be biweekly. Those who require more than one bin can pay for extra bin and pickup. We are a family of four and put out our garbage once a month. We compost and we recycle. We reuse containers as much as possible as well. Many cities have gone to biweekly, why not MH? Ticked Off At people who like the idea of nationalized grocery stores but prefer to shop for the cheaper prices at the large conglomerate Canadian stores rather than support the co-operatives that focus on locally grown items for minimal profit. Ticked Off The cash cow the city has been receiving from our energy department has virtually dried up, now we need to move on, scary. Ticked Off Any offset on the price of gas that the federal government gives Canadians will only be gobbled up by the greedy producers. Ticked Off Six per cent tax hike, yikes. Council should fire themselves. Try cutting back on expenses. Simplify. You could have just resurfaced Division Avenue without narrowing and expensive landscaping. Get rid of frivolous-but-feel-good staff positions. Ticked Off It is concerning when the head of the teachers association is worried about who meets who and what they discuss. On the one hand the teachers want to teach tolerance, anti bullying, etc. Next he is on the front page worried about which groups are meeting and talking. (Editor’s note: You don’t care who lobbies the government to create policy? Ever? Our polygraph has determined that is a lie.) Tickled Pink Enjoyed the column about wine. Would like to see more such columns – could include books, crafts, decor. Tickled Pink I will be totally excited when we are separated and free from the East Politics. Lets take action am support Daniel Smith to the fullest. Lets sing O’Canada and say the Lords Prayer in classrooms. Lets take back Canada. (Editor’s note: You might be a tad confused on what separation means.) Ticked Off I can’t believe the city is going ahead with plans for a trail to Desert Blume. Former mayor Clugston complained about people living in Desert Blume using city facilities for free and now wants to build a trail. Why doesn’t Desert Blume build the trail to connect with the city? How about we build a trail to Irvine and Dunmore and Redcliff? Tickled Pink It was great to see and hear Corb Lund this past weekend and appreciate his passion for no coal mines in Alberta’s Eastern Slopes, the only source of Medicine Hat’s water. Tickled Pink So we’re going to allow chickens in backyards based on best practices in other communities. Great. I trust they will also be improving our by-law officers and enforcement following the lead of those other communities? Ticked Off Urban chickens? Oh dear. Many people can barely care for a dog or cat now you’re going to allow another animal to be neglected or accidentally abused? And the city can’t even keep wildlife in check so we’ll add another creature few have experience raising? Ticked Off How can we claim to live in a democracy when elected MPs from a party you voted for can just walk over to another completely different party by their own personal decision? (Editor’s note: Technically you don’t vote for the party, you vote for the MP. The party losing members always claims to hate this, but, as you’re seeing now, they sure do whistle and look away when they benefit from it.) 41
