About the new sign at the top of Third Avenue SE stating “Cyclists Should Dismount.” I am sick and tired of these signs. We live in a city of hills How about using “Caution” signs only?

I believe the mayor owes the citizens an apology for slamming the hammer down and yelling this is our house and rules. It is not her house, it is the taxpayers’ house.

Wonderful news that Big Marble is selling power back to the city. I try to buy their ‘garden goods’ as much as possible and now I know supporting them is supporting our city. And thanks to city council for going the distance through years of sticky regulations. We, the City of Medicine Hat citizens, have won big.

I love seeing all the great things councillors and the mayor are working on for our city. They attend so many events and seem to be truly collaborating and doing a fantastic job.

They are going to control gophers in Brooks. The deer in Medicine Hat should be controlled.

Someone posted that PM Trudeau built a pipeline. Only part of the story. He cancelled pipelines approved by PM Harper. Then was convinced to expand the one to Vancouver. (Editor’s note: OK, but speaking of only part of the story, it seems relevant that in 2016 a federal court ruled Harper’s government failed to properly consult First Nations communities and then nullified his approval. Trudeau’s government did officially cancel the project, but in order to keep it alive the entire consultation process would have needed to start from scratch.)

That menopause is being more openly discussed. For me, 35 years ago I had to navigate on my own. Who knew sleep disturbances, moods and anger had a roll in it all? I made a few enemies during that spell. Perimenopause is also a thing and starts much sooner.

If Premier Smith used this unexpected windfall from oil prices to cancel privatization of our health-care system and use the money to fix the public system so everyone, and not just a select few, benefit.

Nothing against Big Marble Farms but why would the city buy power from them when we have I believe a huge oversupply of capacity as it is and we are adding the solar project on top of it? I think we generate more than double the average demand and also believe we have about 130 MW over the peak demand. It would seem this would benefit BMF far more than the city.

The bombing of a girls school in Iran by the U.S. and the killing of 168 students was a unmistakeable act of brutal barbarity and will not be forgotten long after this war has ended.

Bosses who micro-manage are the worst. As Theodore Roosevelt said, “The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.”

What’s the point in having licence plates displayed on vehicles when so many are obscured by plastic covers, are too filthy to read, are intentionally scraped off, or are simply faded due to the passage of time? I thought all these scenarios were against the law.

Why does the city master transportation plan insist on putting cyclists’ trails on major roadways? We don’t want to be there and drivers don’t want us there either. Instead of using Third Street NE, why not move any bike trail over to First or Second Street to get us off the major road?

I don’t mind the occasional yard with hens, but I don’t want to be surrounded by them. Hopefully the city would restrict distances between hen houses or only allow so many per block. Chickens attract wildlife such as skunks, birds of prey and coyotes. Coyotes can jump a fence, and if your small dog is outside there could be a nasty incident.

Please don’t allow chickens in yards. While I like the idea and it has worked in some cities, ours is terrible at enforcing existing bylaws. Cats roaming freely into my yard, barking dogs, snow covered sidewalks, unsightly yards, all create tension between neighbours. Don’t add chickens to the list of things they don’t police.

I believe our constitution allows for peaceful protests, but the intention was to protest against Canadian problem. If you must protest, go to where the problem is, not halfway across the world.

With the mural Painter Girl just completed in the atrium at the hospital. Such a beautiful piece of work and such a beautiful addition to the newly renovated atrium. Looking fantastic.

I am so impressed with the MH Minor Hockey Association. I had the privilege of singing along to “O Canada” at Kin 2 this weekend. I wish more adult organizations would follow their lead. Our Canadian national anthem is a joy to sing, and thankfully, I still recall all the words.

For years I’e tried to categorize what Premier Smith says, what she implies and what she does or doesn’t do about any given topic, especially on separation. Some people in Edmonton have resurrected the very appropriate phrase “weasel words” to describe her form of communication.

Getting involved in Trump’s war against Iran will make Canada a long term enemy within Iran. Canada can endure 2 more years of Trump until a more stable government is elected.
