Dear editor, Quebec has abundant hydro power (electricity) and Alberta has abundant natural gas. During a recent relatively minor snow storm, electric power was out in large areas of Quebec. Many homes and businesses lost electric power. Forty-six thousand homes were still without power a few days later. Heating, refrigerators, deep freezers, lighting etc. were not working. I have lived through many many winters in Alberta and have never had the natural gas supply shut down. Electricity or natural gas to heat my home? I sit back, very thankful I live in Alberta with abundant reliable natural gas we take for granted will always be on in the nastiest winter storms. Long live Alberta! John MacLaren Medicine Hat 9
