Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 18, 2025

Tickled Pink

Good thing the fire department made it to the airport for the plane mishap and weren’t misled by the “YXH” airport code mistakenly sprayed on a building downtown.

Tickled Pink

I am totally impressed at the number of people who turned out for the Remembrance Day ceremony in Medicine Hat. I wish I could have heard the speaker better but thanks anyway.

Ticked Off

Often when I read submissions to TOTP it seems we are only getting the information the author wants us to see. How about presenting both sides of the story? (Editor’s note: You want people to present the other side of their own comments?)

Tickled Pink

If they would renovate Riverside School for a homeless shelter. Could have services available there, too.

Tickled Pink

Of the four seasons only autumn has a second name: fall. And that is American. Don’t say fall. It is autumn.

Ticked Off

Yes, it is time to visit the royalties paid by resource companies. When Jason Kenny was premier it was revealed how little the royalties are in Alberta (among the lowest in the world). Nothing was done at the time and since then the subsidies to oil and coal companies have kept increasing.

Ticked Off

That the numbers don’t lie, even if the media doesn’t afford the statistics “top billing.” Alberta’s population is a smidge over five million people and there have been 1,960 reported cases of the measles this year. That’s .00038%. Time to mask up, eh? Or shall we all just shelter in place? (Editor’s note: Who said anything about masks or sheltering in place? You can use a calculator but you can’t crack the code of vaccinating against a preventable disease?)

Ticked Off

If council is serious about trimming the budget the city first needs to take a look at all the remote workers in public services who don’t live in our city, or even in some cases our province. Please let’s keep this money in our community.

Ticked Off

That the leader of the opposition cannot think like a well educated adult or even talk as one – using language most grade school kids should have no problem with. Do we really want him as any political leader in Canada?

Tickled Pink

I would be if someone knows where the bell for the Riverside School James Marshal mural is being stored.

Ticked Off

While my ailment was remedied efficiently and professionally, I’m ticked off my ‘expert’ makes their clients be subjected to Edmonton Oilers paraphernalia while in their care. My heart rate accelerated to almost the breaking point, and I’m not having a good year for the most part. Please remove disgusting tapestries. I need a hug.

Ticked Off

That Medicine Hat was the warmest city on Thursday. This doesn’t count as a plus as long as these winds keep blowing like a mad man. Never can I remember a wind continuously as strong and consistent as the last couple of years. Don’t move to Alberta as I would prefer snow and cold over this wind.

Tickled Pink

Thank you, Medicine Hat News, for the wonderful coverage of the Redcliff Remembrance Day celebrations.

Tickled Pink

A minimum wage is not meant to be a living wage. They are jobs for students or part time. You want a living wage get a skill. Stop asking others to pay you more. It is up to you to earn more. The minimum wage is the floor. But up? The sky is the limit. You do the work and you determine how high to take your wages. (Editor’s note: This only works if there aren’t an abundance of people who aren’t teens or part-timers having to live off minimum wage jobs, which we factually know is happening. The growing wage gap isn’t an effort issue.)

Tickled Pink

At the fantastic Russell Peters show at Co-op Place. His crowd work is exceptional, especially when he poked so much fun at a former mayoral candidate.

Ticked Off

Hay bales are important to Alberta and its economy but every time I submit a comment to TOTP about bales of hay they are not published. I think the submissions are valid. Why do they not warrant discussion?

Ticked Off

Division Avenue is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Thank goodness I very seldom have to use that route. Permanent speed cameras would have been a more sensible solution, but that would infringe on someone’s right to speed.

Ticked Off

People who donate old, dirty and moldy items to a non-profit. Keep your rank dirty underwear items and quit being rude.

Ticked Off

It was disappointing to see the premier and three health ministers announce an acute care plan which will only pull more doctors out of our public hospitals when they set up private surgical suites.

Ticked Off

Medicine Hat needs a TV station. This is unacceptable for a city this size, unable to acquire one since Jim Pattison pulled the plug abruptly.

Ticked Off

Climate change is real and the severity of Alberta wildfires is a result, yet leaders like Trump, Smith and Carney don’t seem to care and have reversed many initiatives to help the environment. Seems crazy to be lax on existential measures.
