Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 4, 2025

Tickled Pink

How wonderful the new fun world indoor playground is! Now once the Southside outdoor recreation area is built we will have two major improvements for families here in MH.

Tickled Pink

Doug Ford’s “Regan” ad was one of the best campaigns ever. Well placed and executed. It actually got Americans thinking about the damage caused by tariffs. Brilliant.

Ticked Off

From where does the money come to pay public employees like teachers?

Tickled Pink

Really like this new dog columnist. Great find. She gets in your head and gets you re-thinking things. My dogs thank you already!

Ticked Off

At the unhealthy criticism and ill-humour directed at conservative leaning viewpoints.

Ticked Off

There were 49,691 eligible voters heading in to the civic election. A total of 18,265 voters cast ballots. That’s 31,426 people who, for whatever reason, did not participate. Yet, media in our community chooses to rail against the process. The real story should be voter apathy. Or, is the News afraid it might offend too many of the people who clearly don’t give a damn? (Editor’s note: What would you have us say to them? Municipal elections always get low turnout.)

Ticked Off

I think we should privatize part of each department at city hall. Bet it would create efficiency at a reduced cost.

Ticked Off

It would be nice if this city would fix some of the roads and sidewalks in our neighbourhoods. I’ve got a future sinkhole in front of my house that has been developing for decades, and when we call the city we are ignored or get flak for calling. If they do show up, the city just plugs the visible holes in the road and calls it fixed. The proverbial tiny bandage over a gaping wound.

Ticked Off

That it takes longer to load a page with my “high speed” internet connection in Crescent Heights than it used to take with dial-up.

Tickled Pink

That we can still get local news through our local paper. I do at times wish there was coverage of world news beyond North America. (Editor’s note: Space is an issue

Tickled Pink

Newfoundland and Labrador starting mandatory mask wearing in all hospitals and provincial health-care facilities to get ahead of respiratory viruses such as COVID, RSV and influenza and encouraging preventive vaccinations.

Ticked Off

With Mark Carney and Doug Ford. Tariffs on, tariffs off, electricity off, electricity on, elbows up, elbows down. Put your left foot in and turn yourself around. It’s no wonder Trump is toying with Canada. Tickled pink with Danielle Smith for having a civilized conversation right away and securing a 10% tariff on oil and gas (although it should be 0).

Ticked Off

That we have a PM who is a coward. Bowing down to a bully just gives the bully the means to bully again, and he will. Good for you Doug Ford for standing up to Trump. Carney is not better than Trudeau. Weak and fluffy.

Tickled Pink

It’s wonderful to see Alberta governed by a conservative agenda with such competent people in the cabinet doing their very best for all Albertans.

Ticked Off

Wonder if more people handed out Halloween candy vs voting. Reading social media you’d think it was the end of the world for some trick-or-treat parents. Grow up.

Tickled Pink

When Alberta separates from Canada, residents don’t have to feel compelled to cheer for the Jays.

Tickled Pink

I’m glad the Jays lost the World Series. The crowing from the premier of Ontario would’ve been unbearable after his TV ad single-handedly destroyed trade negotiations.

Ticked Off

Oops, there’s a clock in the thermostat. Oh, one for the yard lights. Oh yeah, in our vehicles, how do you set this one? Now why did I hang that one so high? Someone remind me why we do this twice a year. Nothing seems to change other than the hours I’ve lost fiddling with clocks. Why?

Ticked Off

UCP really is the Unnecessary Change Party. They don’t seem to be able to do anything important. Change the licence plate, do a study, advocate for the oil industry that doesn’t need it, reorganize health-care system for no particular reason. They are an unnecessary government.

Tickled Pink

If somebody could tell me how they personally benefit from the time change. I’ve asked everyone I’ve met this weekend that question. No benefits. Why do we change time? No one has an answer.

Tickled Pink

Happy birthday to everyone born in November. Especially Tommy Thayer of KISS born Nov. 7 and to others born Nov. 7. Play your favourite music on this day.

Ticked Off

Doug Ford says to never apologize to Trump but our Premier Smith would bend down and kiss his shoes and then apologize.
