Tickled Pink Pentagon reporters turned in their access badges rather than bend to the Trump government’s new rules that puts restrictions on their work. Ticked Off Smith has done nothing to solve Alberta’s health care crisis. She’s too busy dreaming up licence plates for uninsured vehicles due to exorbitant insurance premiums. Ticked Off At the person complaining about having to go through a long list of candidates to find the person(s) they voted for. You should be ashamed, as many people fought and died for your right to vote and many more in the world would give their eye teeth to have the freedom to vote. Based on this your complaint is beyond petty. Tickled Pink That Ms. Neubauer will enter Alberta’s Order of Excellence. I believe she has done a lot for the region, and appreciate her introducing children to farming. Tickled Pink At the excellent example set by the Medicine Hat Musical Theatre. Every year they grow their theatre in some way by engaging a large number of volunteers to put on sell-out shows. Ticked Off Wasting money on a licence plate redesign. Add that to the list of things the UCP is wasting money on instead of funding education or providing AISH to those who need it. Ticked Off When will people quit saying the old Arena should be used as a homeless shelter? It’s condemned. Get it through your thick skulls. Ticked Off The petition to end funding for private and charter schools shows why my kids were in one – weak math in the public. If all these students now go to the public it will cost twice the funding they now receive for a better education. And private schools fund their buildings so they don’t come with the students. (Editor’s note: In fairness, the Alberta government is now offering public funds for private school construction as well. Part of its School Accelerator Program.) Ticked Off The spring forward then fall back of the clocks needs to stop. Let’s change to standard time on Nov. 2 then stay that way. It always takes a good week to adjust to the change, it’s time the government discontinue the time change. Ticked Off To watch ‘Trump the King’ stand alone while world leaders and presidents bow to him fearful of having their countries targeted with more punishing tariffs. What a disgraceful display. Ticked Off I will not replace my licence plate with a MAGA slogan, ever. Yet another complete waste of dollars for something that is not broken. What is wrong with UCP, mental breakdown? Then just quit and stop bothering the taxpayers with junk that costs money. Tickled Pink With the local Health Unit staff for their friendliness and professionalism when we went for our immunizations. Ticked Off With the Alberta government wasting money on changing the licence plates while shortchanging health care and education. Tickled Pink If I could get on the bus in Crescent Heights and that bus go all the way across town. If transit had park and go for things at Co-op Place, special events. Ticked Off Our premier has striking teachers, possibly striking AHS employees, and they come out with, “Look at these shiny licence plates. Don’t look at those other things, look at these.” Tickled Pink Congratulations to the new council, time to get to work on cleaning up the public services department. It’s time to bring back these jobs to local residents. Tickled Pink Can’t wait. Neighbour has cloaked his yard in black plastic walls. He’s built a maze. Third Avenue and 11th Street SE. Ticked Off With people who quit socializing just because their team lost. Get over it. Ticked Off Smith needs to keep her nose out of education. Premier tries to be a smooth talker, never really stays in her lane. So try to distract Albertans with new licence plate? Good one, how much is that costing taxpayers? Could be better utilized in health care. Tickled Pink Hockey Hounds was very well organized as an advance poll for city election. Thank you to all of you for your time and effort! In and out very quickly. Ticked Off Whoever heard of a city of 67,000 without a TV station? Ticked Off What’s the point in getting new licence plates? Lots of people drive around with scraped or worn-off numbers and smoky plastic covers (thereby flouting the law), so who cares about the colour, picture or slogan? They aren’t very visible anyway. Tickled Pink That our city has some incredible people all willing to step up and make a difference working together for city council or one of the school boards. Ticked Off At the UCP government’s shutting down of Alberta’s education system and spending time and money rebranding licence plates to match the UCP slogan. Get your priorities straight. Ticked Off Smith is asking Ottawa for more money for health care, but she cut AISH and is making them apply for Canadian disability credit, she increased the Blue Cross fee from 25% to 35%. She doesn’t want Albertans to have Canadian Dental Plan. So she wants Alberta to be separate but only for things she wants to be? Ticked Off Pre registration for voting was a waste of time at the advance poll as all voters had to fill out the same form to register prior to voting, and raises the question about the effectiveness of the City of Medicine Hat election process and the message to pre register. Ticked Off At our government. Will they never stop attacking? First LGBTQ people, then AISH patients, then seniors, then nurses, now teachers. They have money for biased panels and new police forces and provincial pension plans and lawsuits galore, but not a cent to make things better for our children. Shame on the UCP. Tickled Pink To read Linda Hancock’s column which always enlightens me, lifts off an angst or injects a shot of optimism even when I’m not optimistic. She gives everyone an alternate perspective on life’s daily ups ‘n downs. Applause, applause and thank you, Linda. Ticked Off I hope my neighbours know their cedars in the front yard should be trimmed. Not all people know this to keep them healthy. Tickled Pink Thank you to all candidates who participated in our city’s election. Your passion for our city is evident. We appreciate all of you! Hat’s off to you! 61
