Ticked Off Why is it our premier blames Ottawa for absolutely everything that happens in our province that she doesn’t like? No matter what it is, it’s Ottawa fault. Ticked Off Our family member on AISH pays 70% of income to housing. Can’t get a housing spot. I’ve been told those spots are “reserved for single mothers and newcomers.” No spots available for others who need them. Terrible. Ticked Off There seems to be too much emphasis on growth these days. Why is everyone so intent on making human existence no longer viable? Let us race to no longer existing. Ticked Off At the condition of Third Street NW, just across the river going north, it runs east-west. Tickled Pink That teachers are striking for better pay and better classroom conditions for our children. Teacher pay has lagged behind inflation for the past 10 years, and the UCP has made it clear they do not prioritize education or fair wages. Teachers are the backbone of society and deserve better. Tickled Pink I have watched four years of council meetings and I am so pleased to see Van Dyke is running again. She was always prepared, thoughtful and considerate to those around her. Tickled Pink So blessed to have family come visit for Thanksgiving. Normally we are just selfish and the two of us go out, but after years of not having any family over we are excited to cook a turkey and get that huge pumpkin pie to share. So many of our friends don’t have parents anymore, so I guess we can celebrate with ours. Ticked Off That at councillor and mayoral forums I hear, “I will do this and I will do that.” You may have the best ideas/proposals for our city but you only have one vote. The challenge is to get a majority of council to vote with you. Ticked Off For those who want our MLA publicly flogged for not signing your ridiculous petition, I also won’t sign because since when is a petition started to not change something? I think you’re missing the point of making a petition. What else do I have to sign to not change something else? Ticked Off This thought that only students are making minimum wage is wrong. Many, many women with children are making that. Last time I checked, living wage here was $17.50 per hour. It’s time all women were making a living wage. Tickled Pink The autumn colours and breeze of fresh air each night is something to be grateful for – everyone should put politics aside for a few minutes and look at the beautiful world we live in. Tickled Pink Went to the Esplanade to see Menopause 2 The Musical and was thoroughly entertained. It’s been a while since my wife and I laughed so hard. Ticked Off Respect the rights of B.C. Indigenous peoples. They do not want a pipeline, no matter what Smith and oil executives say. One more pipeline will never satisfy the greed of the UCP and oil companies. Tickled Pink Premier Smith, let’s do some much needed power bargaining. We’ll stand with you to get that pipeline built providing you fix our health care and school systems. Tickled Pink Despite City Hall circus this city is still a great place to live in. Spent most of my 73 years living here. Ticked Off MP Glen Motz has fooled the voters again. He continues do nothing for Medicine Hat except sit as back bencher and collect a paycheque. Ticked Off At the failure of officials to properly organize voting at the Holy Family Parish on Oct. 4. No space inside forcing people to line up outside in the cold and not enough workers registering voters, all making for an unpleasant experience. Ticked Off You can not expect property taxes to not increase when wages increase, cost of everything has gone up as well. The money needs to come from somewhere. Tickled Pink Our utilities are not high compared to some areas of the province and other provinces. I compare them regularly with friends. Tickled Pink With the lengthy list of council candidates. Ticked Off The provincial government wants to get rid of the RCMP, but the millions of dollars it would take to set up and support yearly by Albertans would be astronomical. This money could be better spent on smaller classrooms and better health care. 43
