Letter: There is such a thing as being on council too long

By Letter to the Editor on October 7, 2025.

Dear editor,

It is past time for term limits to be set for the length of time individuals are allowed to serve on city council.

A maximum of two terms, eight years, should be sufficient and be allowed.

When a person runs for council, simply saying the usual, “I plan to increase economic activity or we must do better looking after the poor” is not enough.

Tell us what your plan is to accomplish this. In other words, what are your goals to improve the city and serve the citizens?

If you have not achieved these goals after eight years, then step aside and let a fresh face with new ideas serve.

Simply rubber stamping what the city bureaucracy brings to the table is not sufficient.

Common sense dictates the above!
