Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Aug. 5, 2025

Ticked Off

Mark Carney’s decision to promote the Palestinian State is another of his poor decisions and again shows his growing list of failed policies.

Ticked Off

The Lions Club does an awesome job of putting out good food at our Stampede grounds. It is a shame they have to serve out of a rundown building that should have been replaced many years ago. Come on Medicine Hat, time to upgrade our Stampede grounds.

Ticked Off

At people who take paid leaves in the summer. How convenient.

Tickled Pink

That Methanex sponsored Kiddies Day at Stampede. My grandchildren had a wonderful time doing the scavenger hunt.

Tickled Pink

Thank you to the employees of the city’s parks department for keeping our parks beautiful. Downtown looks wonderful.

Ticked Off

Candidates are getting death threats, yet the common-sense, twice-fired Conservative leader is only worried about too many people running in a byelection that costing taxpayers more than $2 million.

Ticked Off

So, people get in their vehicle with a pet and crank the a/c while saying, “Holy, it’s hot in here.” Then they drive to the destination, and for some idiotic reason turn off the vehicle and leave their pet in it while they leave to do their business. Think, people, think. Leave your pet at home. No one should need to be told this.

Tickled Pink

That we are receiving more money on our pension thanks to the province’s new income tax bracket. Now we have the money to pay for the COVID vaccine (if we can get it), the increase in our health benefits payment to cover soon-to-be increases in co-payments, the impending watercraft fee, the unannounced tax on recycling some products with metal – and all the other hidden fee hikes.

Ticked Off

At people thinking vaccines are the issue, but now that fewer are being vaccinated, measles are out of control. Vaccinations work.

Ticked Off

Cost of food keeps going up and grocery stores make more of a profit. Hmm, if the grocers were making less profit then I could understand it.

Ticked Off

I’m confused. Almost two years ago, council supported the CAO and disciplined the mayor with sanctions. Now it appears council supports the mayor and has disciplined the CAO with a temporary paid leave of absence. All that’s left is for the mayor and CAO to come together and discipline council.

Ticked Off

President Trump has always projected, saying bad things about others that are actually about himself. Perhaps he always projects. Obama a traitor, Hillary a pedophile, election fixing, cheater, the list goes on – and the shoe fits.

Tickled Pink

That Danielle Smith is wasting so much time on separating from Canada. It stops her from making other unnecessary changes. Can’t wait far an election. Maybe Albertans will come to their senses and vote in a new party.

Tickled Pink

The city manager is gone. A poor manager for the City of Medicine Hat. We can do munch better.

Ticked Off

Who controls how cold, I mean really cold, it is at Veiner Centre? When you need to bring a sweater in July because the makeup air system is blowing cold on you, there is something wrong.

Tickled Pink

I believe any increase in taxes should come from politicians’ wages and pensions, as I believe that is the only way they will stop increasing taxes.

Ticked Off

Aug. 1 deadline, an epic fail by the expert negotiator Mark Carney, his “swing and a miss” on the Palestinian “two state solution,” another example of a man with bad policies.

Ticked Off

As to why Trump hates Canada so much, and to penalize our country for being good neighbours. Definitely indicates he is paranoid as to what we have and only suggests corporate greed, so it’s up to us to go elsewhere for our trade, tourism, etc. Only way to deal with this issue is to reciprocate by dollar-for-dollar tariffs and stop U.S. trade as much we can. Go Canada Go.

Ticked Off

That insurance won’t pay to have my crowns redone, even if they were done wrong.

Ticked Off

It seems the Alberta government paid a coal company millions for, what? Nothing. Sounds like corruption. Why haven’t we been given any explanation, and why isn’t there more questioning from the media?

Tickled Pink

With farmers and ranchers who supply areas for shade and windbreaks for livestock, like they used to do when I was a kid.

Ticked Off

There are problems in Alberta regarding a measles epidemic, separatist parties, COVID-19 vaccinations, etc., and Alberta’s UCP wants us to be angry about … bicycle lanes.

Ticked Off

Mark Carney is not a crisis manager, he is a crisis manufacturer. He and Brookfield are going to absolutely rob Canadian taxpayers until people wake up and see why he ran for PM in the first place, when his puppet Trudeau wasn’t going to be allowed to continue grifting on their behalf.

Ticked Off

In the next provincial election, I will vote for any candidate who promises to reverse the disability tax clawback. Certainly not voting for the current premier.

Tickled Pink

That our premier is considering a tax break of 20% for women to have a baby following a European country’s (Hungary) example. If my wife had five babies she would potentially pay zero provincial tax. What a savings! (Editor’s note: Math, hey? Tough stuff.)
