Dear editor, I love living in Alberta and I do not want to live anywhere else, but at times it can be challenging for my mental health. In this case I live my life day to day and try to ignore politics as much as possible. Having lived on AISH from 2003 to 2022 when I aged out and switched to what I call “my old lady money,” it was always a constant worry when or if the government of Alberta would cut me off or how I would survive that month. Now it seems that when I seemingly have just enough money, I have to worry about Alberta separating from Canada, or starting its own pension fund. I suppose I could move but I love living here, my health is better here, I am happy here. It is a situation where those of us who don’t want to separate and want to keep our pensions feel trapped because we can’t move from Alberta and don’t want to. Diane MacNaughton Redcliff 9
