Are sanctions being handed out willy-nilly? Because it seems they are easily quashed on appeal.

If Danielle Smith would be accountable for the public purse: $10,000 Mar-a-Lago trip, $170,000 Dubai trip, $270,000 carpet, $22-million oil and gas war room ads, $4.8-million office budget increase, etc. Smith’s reign in pursuing her own agenda, and not bettering the majority of her paying subjects, is too expensive to maintain.

That the separation sentiment is growing. Just think how prosperous we will be when we can keep all the money we send to Ottawa. All your social programs that you are so settled into will have so much more money for you to glean from.

Canada Post has a problem because of cost. I am a deft senior who had to pay $1.50 to send a letter to the pension board. I cannot use the telephone because of my hearing. Letters to government agencies should be free.

Sovereign means absolute power. Premier Smith wants a sovereign province in a united Canada. Seems like an oxymoron to me. Just like the UCP. Not united, not conservative and just a bad party.

Well, Ms. Smith, this Albertan is not in favour of breaking from Canada, but if Alberta breaks away I would not hesitate to leave Alberta. I have always been a proud Albertan but not anymore.

Conservative: averse to change and innovation and holding traditional values. That is the definition of conservatism. That is not Danielle Smith. She is not a conservative. She is a radical right, who wants radical change in Alberta. She is not what we want.

Albertans do not want an Alberta Pension Plan, that is very clear after the results were forced out of the UCP by journalists. In the same vein, we do not want an Alberta Provincial Police Force, and we certainly do not want to leave Canada. Smith is more than tone deaf, she is stone deaf.

As of this week the rule of law no longer exists in the U.S., only the rule of decree by Trump. The U.S. is rapidly throwing democracy into the trash can under the rule of a dictator.

Just wanted to say to some of these restaurants, if you get the Medicine Hat News or the Calgary Sun it will bring back lots of business for you. I only know of a couple places in town that do it and they get really good business. Just trying to be helpful.

With someone remembering our military families, who are in a very vulnerable situation, with kids especially. Sometimes it’s not even possible to be together. For safety we have to send our loved one elsewhere, and that’s a very hard decision to make. Thank you for thinking of us.

Alberta separation is not a viable idea. It is the opposite of smart. The costs of becoming a country are enormous. I wish people, including our premier, could demonstrate more rational ideas instead of pie-in-the-sky, incomplete, unachievable reasons to leave Canada.

If Alberta chose to make its own pension plan I predict CPP would give it zero dollars. Provinces can have their own pension plan but the population has only contributed to CPP. The new plan would start from scratch.

That MPs in Canada all unanimously supported a Bill to take supply management out of any future trade negotiations. This effectively favours the dairy and egg sectors over other ag sectors, and indeed, maybe other industries. Why didn’t our local MP speak up?

That Canada has a diplomatic PM while the U.S. has an ignorant bully. Mark Carney does not blame Trudeau for our failures, however Trump blames every almost failure on his predecessor. Quite a comparison, huh.

Give it up, Premier Smith. Please quit trying to force provincial police, pension and most other unnecessary changes on Albertans. We do not want them. Stop already.

I was pleased to listen to an article on CBC radio recently, where they interviewed a munitions manufacturer in Calgary. I didn’t know we had something like this in Alberta. With our commitment to spend more due to our NATO allegiance, it’s nice to know we can “spend local” on this. By the way, they also manufacture most of the bullets for Canadian police forces.
