Dear editor, It was great happiness to read the recent article on Mrs. Di Ninno’s well earned recognition on 30 years of service to education. Our family personally was influenced and inspired by her dedication and excellence in teaching. Our two sons attended CAPE school for five years and we never regretted a day of that decision. Even today, with those boys now in their mid 30s, they still speak highly of the training they got to go forward with in high school, post-secondary and university. Mrs. Di Ninno had that rare but special quality to lead a classroom with a firm hand but also prompt a child to do their very best to earn her praise. She commanded respect and she got it in spades. Multiculturalism and acceptance was always promoted. Everyone was given a chance and prejudice and bias were not tolerated. She made a very lasting impact and my family wish to extend a heartfelt thank-you to her for her guidance and service. She has deserved a well earned rest, but somehow I do not think retirement will be slowing down, rather just another door to step through and carry on. Stay well, Mrs. Di Ninno, and again, thank you.
