Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, June 17, 2025

Tickled Pink

Would be if council and administration trying to rush this MCC would slow down and let the new council decide. This is important to our community and should not be rushed through last minute.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith acts as if Alberta’s oil will last forever. My great grandfather, an Alberta pioneer, knew nothing about oil. At the rate we are producing oil, my grandchildren will know nothing about oil either because our reserves will be all gone. What then? Let them figure it out.

Tickled Pink

That so many people are not in favour of separating. I have to question the intelligence of people who want this to happen.

Ticked Off

Why are parents letting their kids have smartphones? It is turning kids’ brains to mush. It is causing so many negative effects on their brain functioning and mental health. This is from a teacher.

Tickled Pink

TOTP is geared toward more ticked off submissions because people use it as a place to vent, even though a lot end up on the cutting-room floor.

Ticked Off

To the guy who hates sharing the road with cyclists. It’s the law. That is where you ride. Bicycles are treated as “motor vehicles” and must obey all traffic laws. They get the right third of the lane. Left third if they are about to turn left. Do big trucks bother you as well?

Ticked Off

That residents don’t know that while southern Alberta reservoirs, such as Oldman, St. Mary and Waterton, are generally doing better than last year; they still remain below historical averages. While some reservoirs have seen increased water levels due to rain in May, the levels are still lower than they were at this time last year. So yes, we need to act.

Tickled Pink

We have many devoted teachers who are doing the best they can given the limited resources and support they are receiving. They don’t want to strike but they need some relief from their increased workload and demands.

Tickled Pink

To read the very informative article in Medicine Hat News, written by Dan Dueck warning us about how cyber crime works. I’m looking forward to more informative articles.

Ticked Off

Folks knocking EVs should at least get their facts straight. Yes, they are more environmentally costly to make, but since they have zero emissions they break even on that pollution after being on the road around 3-4 years, compared with ICE vehicles that have no break-even point as it constantly pollutes. If you don’t like them, that’s cool, just be honest about it.

Tickled Pink

Judging by the turnout at the MCC meeting for Chamber members, there does not appear to be a lot of faith in council or administration within the business community.

Ticked Off

Wondering why Alberta needs another pipeline to transport its thick crude oil, which needs extensive and expensive amendments to move it, and expensive refining to use it. Is there really a market considering these obstacles?

Tickled Pink

Recently there was water coming out of the road and the following morning the city dug up the and repaired the water line. Watching the workers do their thing, I saw a well organized, group of workers doing a great job.

Tickled Pink

It is simply amazing the every day the Medicine Hat News produces a large-page magazine full of fresh content. It gets written, printed, assembled, distributed and delivered to my door. Every day. Mind boggling.

Ticked Off

The last new vehicle I bought was in 2010 for $25,000, financed for $230 per month. Now everyone wants to double that payment for a used vehicle worth half as much, and I kinda hope the vehicle industry sees a major crash.

Ticked Off

Just want to thank our UCP leadership for giving us another “sales Tax” (let’s call it what it is) by reducing drug coverage for our seniors. Tax, tax, tax … take from the young, middle class and the aged to feed the oil, gas and coal barons in our province.

Tickled Pink

That CBC’s ‘Power & Politics’ recognized our premier is in a ‘political’ situation. She IS being recognized across the country. (Friday p.m. broadcast).

Ticked Off

Withholding senior city administrator expenses from the public is fundamentally wrong. It is prudent to account for taxpayer dollars. If the cities of Calgary and Edmonton can provide this, why can’t ours?

Ticked Off

This year 368 Albertans died of COVID while 228 died from the flu. Our government’s response is to restrict vaccinations for COVID. Perhaps they could recover the money they paid for undelivered Tylenol and pay for the COVID vaccinations.

Ticked Off

Thanks, Premier Smith, for deciding to charge Albertans for COVID vaccinations. It is further evidence that you do not care about the health of Albertans. So glad to know there was enough money in the budget to pay for the new carpeting in your office.

Ticked Off

Government changes to seniors’ Blue Cross co-payment is now 30%, up to $35 per prescription. That adds up very quickly for someone with health issues. Is this your UCP government working for Albertans?

Tickled Pink

With the city’s enhanced new road closures map. I love avoiding construction and detours, so this is great.

Ticked Off

An MCC needs to be handle with a plebiscite. The public doesn’t trust City Hall to be acting in the best interest of the people of Medicine Hat.

Ticked Off

If the city wants more tourism, we need a few hundred more camping spots attached to Echo Dale. No-brainer.

Ticked Off

Hardly surprised that the UCP is now making people pay for COVID vaccines. It echoes the same sentiment as their push for private health care. To the UCP, money is more important than the health of the people. It’s almost cartoonishly evil at this point.
