Deposited my cheque for the Salvation Army in the kettle with a note on it with my email address for a receipt. I received an email receipt the next day. Saved us both a stamp.

The Kyle Church Christmas show on Dec. 11 was fantastic. Good to see this incredible local musician/songwriter pulling in the crowds. Great entertainment.

My goal this year has been to give extra to the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign during the postal strike. Thank you to all the volunteers.

I have a PVR to record shows so I don’t have to watch all the commercials. Imagine watching a one-hour show in 40 minutes. So much more time to read the newspaper!

While volunteering at the Veiner Centre we saw a young man helping a lady who we thought was his mom. Turns out he just saw her walking very unsteadily. He was concerned that she might fall so he escorted her into the building. Angels are among us!

A wonderful Christmas school concert by St. Patrick’s School at the Cypress Centre! A job well done by teachers and students! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am very grateful to have amazing neighbours in our court. We all have been in our houses for over 10 years. We are all friends. Come winter, if it’s a big dump and someone didn’t get out first thing in the morning with their blower, someone will be out there clearing the side walks. On the weekends we will all help each other out with clearing snow if need be. It’s lovely being friends with your neighbours.

Would just like to give kudos to the captain of our hockey team. He scores, sets up goals, plays tough, gets constantly roughed up, and yet still shows up game after game even if he is possibly banged up or even injured. The guy is a winner.

That we can celebrate the birth of baby Jesus this Christmas. He was born to give us eternal life, and for that I am very grateful.

I’m very grateful for the Veiner Centre and all the programs they offer for seniors. It’s a wonderful place to develop a sense of community. The staff are marvelous to work with and do their best to fulfil all our requests.
